Porkey Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Hey all, I ran into an issue recently where using a mod from the Skyrim Workshop on Steam would cause Skyrim to be completely unable to load. It wouldn't even start up, Vortex would show a turning icon but nothing would ever truly start. I know this mod is the problem since when it's disabled the game starts just fine. I was wondering if there's any workaround to it? I should mention that the mod was downloaded via https://steamworkshopdownloader.io/ The mod in particular that I am talking about is https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=723569904 (I've also tried some of the other OW outfits but the crashing seems to be consistent with all of them having the exact same issue.) The version of Skyrim SE I'm using is the patch before the AE ruined a lot of mods. (By preventing steam from updating and using a downgrader that was available when that update first arrived) I've tried converting all my mods to the new update but it corrupts my save and I'd like to finish the game before I fully commit to updating everything. Hopefully someone has an answer, and if it really doesn't work at all that's fine too, just let me know. Thanks!
Leeeeeroy Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Models from oldrin doesn't work in SE, you gotta convert then to work on SE. Never did a conversion, but I know there's a tool called cathedral that apparently does that. You could try it.

Can't really see much about that mod to know what it does/doesn't contain Usually the reason that skyrim itself doesn't start up after selecting SKSE is due to an incompatible mod that uses SKSE which you should be able to see by checking the SKSE logs in \Documents\my games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE as it will say which plugin it has failed to load - will be the text files that begin SKSE If you are making it into the game and its failing to load a save / start a new game that would be a different matter If it is more related to the thread title than what you describe yes LE textures can cause SE to crash but this can normally be solved by running the mod through Cathedral_Assets_Optimizer - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/23316
