ceres Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Hello, I've recently started to create a modern soldier mesh up. To complete it I tried to import a helmet from http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/45203//?. I succeded in making it appear in skyrim even though the size and the postion is still a bit off, but I have one serious problem and I have not been able to figure out what went wrong. When you look at the screenshots, you can see that the helmet doesnt follow the head movement or the body movement even though I copied the weights from the femalehead nif and the skeleton to it. I've also tried to use the skeleton and weights of the body nifs and other helmets, but the result was always the same. The helmet is set as a circlet, so that the hair doesnt disappear. I've also tried to use it as a normal helmet, but the body part number doesnt seem to have anything to do with my problem So in short, could anyone tell me how to properly import helmets to skyrim? Doing it the same way as with body armors didn't work for me :/ I've uploaded the blender and nif file + textures. Perhaps you'll notice some error. Pls help me modernsoldierhelmet.7z (These are only the raw files, they are not in the correct folders)
Ark of Truth Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Looks to me that the helmet is not either in the right equipment slot or is not rigged correctly to the skeleton. Let me take a look and see.
b3lisario Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Using NifSkope, tick the "SLSF1_Skinned" flag in the BSLightingShaderProperty / Shader Flags 1 of all meshes
ceres Posted June 29, 2013 Author Posted June 29, 2013 Thank you both very much for helping me and so quickly as well! You're the best And your advice really solved my problem, b3lisario. I have been using the bslightningsshaderproperty of a weapon mesh, so that flag was not activated. So it was no weight or skeleton problem after all, just a tiny flag that troubled me for days
