n case you do the 50/50 of all life, in your "The Sims 4" folder put "The Sims 4.before" and create a new one and try the mods with basic sims to find the result.

so you don't have to mess up your old folder so much xd

I'm sure this has been said, but it takes an eternity to load into the world, and even going from location to location. What is the best way to quicken the loading times?

How much charging time are we talking about?

Is it from world to world or between batches of the same world or do the times vary according to that ?
Do you have more CC / Mods besides the ones on the main page ?

It varies from 30 seconds to a full minute in all loading screens. From going to a different lot, changing worlds, going from CAS to game, etc.

I do have other CC but not too many, very few script mods that aren't part of Mrrakkon's.

My other saves are fine and load in 10-15 seconds as they should, so I assume it's the hefty amount of sims in the world.

What kind of hard drive are you using? If it's an old mechanical or even an ooold SSD, a replacement with a new one should speed things up.

 

If you're playing on a laptop, whether or not you can even replace the SSD is entirely dependent on the kind of laptop you're using.

I have no idea what is going on really - but remember this was mentioned somewhere on here - so many of my sims are naked. Like. SO many. Downloaded both torrent files and put them in my mods (played the version of this save before doomsday update without significant issues so assuming I know how to place these files correctly). 

 

Edited: Also, does anyone else's game freeze up when clicking on the computer? Everything is still moving but I guess the menu takes forever to come up (it hasn't been able to for me so far) and I'm unable to press on anything else.

Hey @TriggerBlade and Co. -- something to look out for whenever you guys update next. I think the Strangerville Curio Shop Owner isn't identified properly. He's in the game - Erwin Pries - and shows up as a "conspiracy theorist," which is correct. But he never shows up to run the shop in Strangerville. No one does, which means you can't fulfill some of the objectives in the Strangerville Mystery.

 

It's possible that there is something else going on, but figured I'd at least bring it to your attention in case it's something with the save file.

so i got the 2 zip files from torrenting for the cc but the files won't extract into anything. using multiple different file unzip thingies, i can see all the file names and could probably find a majority of this stuff from the OG modders but that would take forever. y'all know what's wrong w the cc files not being able to export?

just download the 2 torrents, extract them separately, then merge them into a folder and move it to your Mods folder inside the game and you're done.

Or do you have some external problem that I didn't understand?

Hi all! I am sorry for the possibly dumb question but in this playthrough I would like to edit a bit townies and in-world households. It seems I can't find sims in "Manage Household" to move them in the world (e.g. sims friends with Summertime Family). Is there a way to find them? Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone, so I redownload the sims, and I downloaded both torrent files and the save and the hard requirements, but when I start the game it freezes and the main menu does not load. 

 

I took out all of the mods in the folder and it works.

 

So then I added the mods back but they same thing happened.

 

Do I need to make a save first or something? 

 

Any help is much appreciated

The amount of files that you have installed from this save can take several minutes to load and make it look like the game is not responding. If you haven't yet, turning off the mod list once you get to the main menu will speed it up.

Thank you! I thought about doing that, I am going to take the mods out and let it load then disable the mod list and then readd the mods and load the game and then enable the mods and that should work? Or how long does it take to load? Like I'm confused, I don't remember it taking this long last time but then again I stopped playing last year like in March

I don't mean that you should disable mods in the game, but the list that shows which ones are installed when you get to the main menu. If you don't know what list I'm talking about, it's probably already disabled for you. As for how long it takes to load, that isn't a question that has a single answer because everybody's computer hardware is different.

Just a thought, but since the Apartment expansion came out since the last major update for this save file, I think it would be fitting to add in a bunch of apartments owned by the Landgraabs.

Okay so because things are taking so long, I'm giving you guys a small gift.

So as most of you know, the game can run like molasses even on good computers. So the Easter Egg sims, save for one that you can pry from my cold dead hands, have been removed from the save and uploaded here for your leisure. All the CC is located in the save's torrents so all you need are the tray files. Free free to do with them as you wish.

I know that many of you enjoyed the Summertime Saga sims but there were genuinely a lot of them and with mrrakkon's sims and our guest contributors, the game was just chugging. We had like 900 sims.

Though you're free to download them and put them back in or use them for your own saves.

I also added a lot more images to the gallery previewing some sim updates and some sims that will be appearing in the next update.

I apologize for those that saw this expecting a new update to the save but trust me! It's coming! A lot needs fixing for the 2 to 5 minute load times to be reduced.

When we can confidently put people in lots and not lead to them randomly leaving or suing the landlord, this is the plan.

How often does that happen? I'm not doubting or anything, just want to help figure out what causes it.

 

Maybe I'm not paying enough attention, but I haven't had any issues with this. Maybe I'm not playing a single save long enough?

 

I created a few residential rentals and put sims into them, and I haven't seen any issues. Then again, I don't actively play any of the landlords.

 

I turned that one place where Sofia Bergsenjensenjin...owitz.... lives into a residential rental for example. IIRC, I evicted everyone, rebuilt the lot, then moved them back in to apartment 1. Then I checked the cost of each apartment, then I split the household, making sure to give each split enough to afford one of the apartments. For instance, I split Sofia and the blue haired girl into their own household, then moved them into the apartment I had built for them. Then I split the single mother and kid into their own household and placed them in the apartment I had built for them. I've played a few saves for a while with that place saved that way and haven't seen any problems. I even moved some more sims into the left over apartments in one save. No issues.

 

I also split that one Flores/Alvarado household. You already gave them their own homes basically, so I just turned their lot into a residential rental. I split the two families into their own house. And I built a third house on the lot since there was enough room for a third. IIRC, I also made some changes. I moved a family into that third house and played through the entirety of a sims college career there. Never had any issues.

 

Maybe it's because all the apartments/homes I built were above 3 stars when sims moved in? Even now they're all 4 stars. Only one of the apartments is 2 stars, but that's because I got lazy and didn't feel like filling it with furniture. I just dumped a sim family there to move them out of the way for another build.

Hi, been a fan for many years love the characters and the world, I was wondering if theres an alt way to download the files that are on torrent?, not really a fan of torrenting because of isp concerns and such.

no worries just checking I have a vpn and all that jazz for me torrenting is a hassle so I can kinda see how you guys feel about hosting lol
