Looking for someone to convert armor

Ok I like mercenary easy tasks  :P

Ive seen your little character Poet in Nexus, If Im right...

But I see in the future that If you continue this path, you'd probably need more conversions and not very often people will grant them (most likely never)

The general philosophy is "do it yourself" or the "teach a man how to fish" saying

Id be willing to do it, cause its easy enough (95% probability its easy)

But is a "right now" favor and It would do little for you in future occasions

But just for asking, how much do you know about blender and nifskope? would you be willing to try a few tutorials? Would you give it a try?

Posted

@Elalquimista I'll be interested in the conversion as well, so if you do happen to convert this outfit\armor, would you be as kind enough to also share it here ?

I guess that the same thing goes to a tutorial... :)

I would love both. I am willing to learn for future projects. I do believe i will need more and more like you said. I have worked with nif scope a bit.  But only like removing sheathes off swords and removing parts of armor i didn't like. :)

Since I've asked a few times also to get armors converted to a or aa cup, I'd also like to learn to convert armors by myself.

I've been trying to get some tutorials, but I can't even find the right ones. With a person that directs me to the right tutorials, I'll be glad to learn.

I hope you don't mind me getting attached. :shy:

But... the only thing I can do with nifskip is rescalling hair meshes and moving items across XYZ coords. Blender... none.

Ok... so seeing some interest I think Ill give it a go

When I spoke of a tutorial I meant you guys looking for some, but It appears as if I have suggested to make one  :P

Now considering all, the best thing I could do is make a tutorial

Ive been considering a few tutorials, since I realize I like explaining things to people, and as Im no programmer, I have the experience of being someone who learnt everything by asking, looking and experiencing.

However, most of the things I know are now almost automatic, so Id have to make a process and pay attention to details so I dont forget to mention them, besides, I just noticed writing a good tutorial is going to take time.

Ill se what I can do, but the tutorial is long term

Regarding the conversion, Im going to accept this mercenary contract  :P

Only one thing... I have no Idea what to make of the rights and all that legal crap... again

The mod in Nexus says Eiries made the publishing but there are lots of authors involved

Its probably best to leave the conversion here, but if anybody has any better idea please speak

I kinda feel weird when its not explicitly authorized conversion

Oh one more thing did you say A cup? are you sure its A? I heard mention of AA but If its A, then its A

Just a tiny difference but since you asking its got to be clear

No changes in lower body right?

Since I didn't make the request, I'm not going to ask for anything different and you're being kind enough as it is. :)

In the mean time I'll try to figure out how to convert on my own. There's a transformation lattice that someone posted here for blender but it never worked for me so I'll look for something else.

A cup works for me, as far as posting it, i would suggest keep in the conversion here, as Nexus gets weird about posting mods without explicit permission. I appreciate all you do!

Cthulhu is who asked for the conversion, so I'm just fine with it. :shy:

About the tutorial, thank you very much, Elalquimista. Take your time. At least for me, it's going to be impossible to begin before July 18th. You know, tests and stuff.

Hugs!!

By the way, I have no problem reading and understanding english, but since I'm not a native, my writing might be weird sometimes.

@Dallkill your writing is perfectly fine, it doesn't seem weird at all. :) I'm not a native English speaker myself either. (And it probably shows)

Aaaaand here ya go:

Sorry I didnt even had time to test it

Its very easy to screw up in minor details that make everything messy

But Im certaing the converted meshes are a reality and as long as they exist is easy to fix almos anything product of a screw up...

The very worst thing it could happen is there was clipping, but I also tested a running animation to see if it clips and apparently not... at least no more than the original

In the "Bikini Explorer" outfit, I had to destroy the BBB function cause until present day I havent found an A-Cup mesh with that function and probably no one ever made BBB for A and AA cup

I would have placed an esp file to have both types original and A-Cup available in game, but I was too lazy for that and that wast part of the deal

So instead these are replacers, place them in the same folder that the originals are and replace them, probably a good idea to backup first. (Meshes/Clothes/DungeonExplorer)

One of these days Ill be writing a few tutorials I guess...

In the meantime this is the end of my mercenary contract  :P

I hope you like it and put it to good use

Thank you very much for that conversion. And for the tutorials, don't worry and just do them if you have the time and only if you feel like it.

I'll give kingkongs link a try.

if you are looking for tutorials to convert your files follow the links : http://www.loverslab.com/topic/7466-converting-armorclothes-from-one-body-type-to-another/

The most specific tutorial I found by jumping through those links was this one -

http://grotto.moddersrealm.com/index.php?topic=9519.msg186407#msg186407

But I have no idea what Blender version does he use there...

Never mind I'm making progress with this tutorial... Just as a test, I'm trying to convert Ashes Nei armor from GUTS to ZKEC.

http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/40668/?

But as I reached the part in the tutorial where I need to go to edit mode and delete the vertices, I got stuck because I don't know which vertices to delete..?

It says "romoving vericles wich are under the armor" but I can't discern between vertices that are the armor and those which are under it, because I can see through the body mesh in edit mode so sometimes those vertices are the back part of the armor...

And I still have issues sculpting parts of the armor to fit the body, besides that it's full of lumps and bulks after the sculpting I gave it.

I dont even use sculpt mode... There are many different tricks and techniques, Sculpt is one of them, lattices are another and of course there's always the good old fashioned editing manually, may seep primitive but its very accurate if you know what youre doing.

You could try to select the body, press Ctrl+L and that should select all the linked vertices to the body, giving you a clearer difference, then target the ones you dont need and delete. the repeat the process whenever youre confused. Also pay attention to pressing z key

Pressing it makes all things transparent but it gets extremely confusing. pressing it again makes things opaque

Sculpting - turns out messy when I do it and I'm still staggering at that tutorial so... >

Lattices - I got stuck when attempting to convert using lattices a while back and got no answer when asking for help. Now I tried again and got stuck at a different stage with a similar obstacle, while following the nice tutorial we have here on the Lab.  :s

Good-old-fashioned editing - I might've considering doing that, only I don't know what the heck am I doing.  :D

tutorials are good to have idees on how it can work    but   the best way to learn is to try to test by yourslef      also there is a lot of shortcuts keyboard      like for the semi transparancy of the meshe you can  while clicking on a vertices   you push "Ctrl" and mouse left click       when a meshe is diturbing you    you can hide it by selecting and "h"          the important thing is to make a save before any attempt  and each time you mess something you reload.      ( a or aa cup i do not think a BBB meshe or not there is a difference

--sorry if i hurt anybody.)

There was a little issue with the textures... probably invisible to most users cause it was related to the naming of the meshes and the racial texture size causing some issues with the skin

This issue was present in the original download related to the lower body which I didnt mess with

I forgot to notice the Nexus page had two files one of them being a fix for that issue and I worked with the original only

But I really hope its been fixed now since I renamed meshes and re-uploaded  ;)

Aw, I want to end my ***king tests to begin with this tutorials. X_X

Would you say a person with zero experience with blender and nifskope could learn to convert armors with ease?

I'm eager to learn, but a bit scared since I don't trust very much in my skill...
