Trykz Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Freshly rebuilt from the ashes of Oblivion: So I figured that while I'm working on TCRA's tutorial over the next couple weeks, I might as well squeeze in some revamps of my previously released races to break up the monotony. This thread is where you'll be able to track progress on ALL of my previously released race mods as I rebuild them. Now for the bad news Since this and other races are (and will be) constructed under a new TCRA version, I unfortunately have to wait until *after* TCRA is released before I can distribute them, as many of the assets I'll be using aren't available in the currently released TCRA version. Don't worry, the currently released races will still work fine (I took extra care not to break anything I've recently released ) In any event: As you can probably tell, the new version of TCRA is working great! EVERY asset you see here (except for the hair and clothes of course), is just a small part of what's included in the TCRA BSA archive. The wings are animated, same as Valkyrie's. The demon tail is also animated. The body, hand, and face diffuse textures will be part of the race mod itself, but the underlying textures (normal, subsurface, specular) are ALL TCRA assets. The body is base CBBE 3.2 (another TCRA asset) with fully functional TBBP breast and butt bounce. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So..... Frost Elves: Yes, they'll also be returning with a statement. As powerful magic wielding spellswords, there is little that can withstand their icy cold assault. Combining both magic and melee, they can slow their opponent's advances to a crawl, while simultaneously draining their stamina pool to little more than an icy cold puddle, tiring them into their inescapable defeat. Tired of carrying around those heavy swords? Well burden yourself no more: Her weapons are summoned *Shards of Ice*. One for each hand. Swirling around her, is *Frost Cloak of the Ancients*, which does 12dps as it pelts everything it hits with razor sharp icy shards, and can be recast at will. They also start with 2 additional spells... Frostbite and Icy Spear. But..... with a 50% reduction in fire resistance, many dragons will prove to be supremely challenging. These spells and abilities have been tweaked both up and down, each tailored for challenging Master and Legendary difficulties. And yes, their skin still glistens with frost in the darkness This race will use the SevenBase Bombshell body, and with a little luck, zonzai's Real Girls textures. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- One at a time as I get these finished, I'll post status updates to this post. Thanks I figured that in a lot of ways, my newer races just seemed a bit more *interesting*, so I'd better spruce these up to be on par with what I plan to build in the future. I have a lot of very specific changes planned for each of the old races, mostly targeted toward trying to make them *fit* into the Elder Scrolls universe. *Lore friendly* so to speak...... I also have plans for the following races/species: Amazon Drow Fairie Draconic Goblin -esque Spirit Satyr -ess? Reptilian And that's the *short list* Trykz
Silvist Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 @Trykz - The more races added to skyrim the better So far I like that alot of your races bring a ton of things to the table, not just some random human variant. I like the idea of the Shards of Ice for the Frost elves. I myself have an entire collection of bound like elemental weapons, which I actually based on destruction magic and not on summoning like bound. I actually posted about my project a couple months back, but nobody took interest. I actually based it on Proxocide's work. I did take a look at using some of tktk's ideas from his combat attack mods. Though it was much hard to incorporate the effect. I actually was able to produce very strong effects on the ethereal weapons...but rofl it would cause alot of glitches with lighting. If you got any questions on any of that kind of stuff, or want to use some of my work as a basis for any of your other races let me know. I honestly feel that racials are really down played in skyrim. There's only a couple vanilla races that actually have an advantage while using them. They also don't scale very well to the difficulty either, making alot of them useless. That's why I'm thankful you take that into consideration. As always looking forward to seeing more of your work. Now if only I could rip out a good elven head 3d mesh with the ears attached ;p But then I'd have to figure out facegen

So far I've been playing as your spriggan race and loving it, now it seems like my second character will also be one of your custom races. The snow elves look gorgeous, and the dual-wielding sounds like a fun playstyle. Looking forward to these, thanks for all of your great modding work. Drow and a draconic race also sound like a lot of fun, and once your tutorials come out I may try making one of my own. I have an idea for a phoenix-themed race that I'd love to take a shot at making in Skyrim. Also, I am curious, does the demoness come with hooves? I'm not sure exactly how extensive you can get with things like hooves and tails for races, but it would be a nice touch if she did.

Whoever was put in charge of developing them should have been fired for presenting such basic and overly useless crap This looks amazing. I added the hooved body to TCRA, but I won't be using it for this race. I will use it for the Satyr race I have planned, but only if I can manage to build a chest and boot armor restriction into the race itself (putting armor on this body causes the lower legs to reappear. We'll see..... Lot's to do today...... be back later
Trykz Posted June 28, 2013 Author Posted June 28, 2013 Well..... Demoness got a few final tweaks today. I didn't much care for their old abilities, but didn't want to trash them entirely. They just seemed a little too *vanilla*. Since vampires would be considered lesser beings by a descendant of Mehrunes Dagon, their bloodline consists of total disease immunity. Hence, no vampire variant. I also gave them a special power that combines their old abilities into a single lesser power fired by the voice power key. Here's what it looks like in game: I call it *Hellfire and Brimstone* The initial blast does 40 damage to opponents that are close, 25 to those a bit further away, and 10 to anything on the outer edge of it's radius. Simultaneously, the Demoness is engulfed in a cloak of flames that does 8 dps to whatever's in melee range for 60 seconds. I may tweak these values a little, if testing proves to be too OP on Master and Legendary modes. If everything goes well, this will be in my release thread tomorrow night Trykz

Looks like the demoness is more along the lines of a "destroyer" daedra instead of a sexpot like an actual succubus... but she's uber-sexy anyways, and can be easily RP'd as one Would you happen to have alternate meshes for the demon wings though? It's just that the shape kinda looks...fairy-ish to me.

I didn't much care for them either really, since they were re-sized Alduin wings and looked awkward IMHO. In any event, as I did for the Valkyrie race, I created a new *Ring of Concealment* which will hide both the wings and the tail should they be annoying during dungeon crawls or *other* activities The ring is equipped on the left hand (so it won't hide/replace right hand rings), and uses both biped slots 40 (tail) and 44 (wings). So use a bit of discretion when equipping other items from other mods which use either of these slots. Craftable at any forge, it requires NO items to create (I opted for this over the ever problematic additem on load script, which would give it to any race at game load). A few minor tweaks to go, and this will be ready to add to my release thread this evening You'll find it at the bottom of the second post under Reconstructed Previous Works. Trykz
