synfinity Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 I have several addon hairs in my install, would it load faster or with less errors if I combined them into one addon?
RidSol Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 I think that even with a slow PC there will hardly be any noticeable acceleration. But there's nothing wrong with trying it out ?
Grinta Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Combined all the hair into a single addon certainly helps the PC while loading the game, but does not increase the speed by a lot. However of course it can be done, I have all my hair in one addon, you just have to be careful when you combine them, because if you miss a single step the game will give you an error. As RidSol rightly said, a lot also depends on what PC you have.
synfinity Posted February 7, 2022 Author Posted February 7, 2022 I combined all the addon jewelry I liked a while back. It works okay, but it's such a small selection that I can't really tell if it is helping load time or stability all that much. I almost wish all those hairs had not been added as a default to VX, so many of them I don't use. Would be better to pick and choose.
OysterMug Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 Personally, I discourage Addon combining. It doesn't speed anything up or use less memory. And if just one has something wrong with it, it takes all the others down with it.
synfinity Posted February 8, 2022 Author Posted February 8, 2022 I tried using the options manager to disable the hairpack and just adjust the config file like it said to do, but a lot of the hairs I selected to keep still didn't show up in-game. Id there a trick to this?
