LiteEmUp Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 this is moreso towards fo4 help, but also usable for skyrim if i ever needed to... i could have posted this on fo4, but it feels like i might get better results in asking help from skyrim community due to large community size than fo4 lol... i've exhausted my options on espl'ing weapon mods for fo4, so i now at the point i needed to find a way to free up plugin slots.. for skyrim, im still at the point where i have all armor/weapon mods i use converted to espl, but having knowledge how to merge mods is a bonus i have some "decent" experience on how to use xedit, so i can follow and understand instructions... i watched gamerpoet's merging mods videos, and even if its straightforward, it feels like there are some merging mods knowledge i'm missing that he has not mentioned... aside from zedit, what programs to use for merging mods?? if a weapon/armor mod gets updated, how do i integrate it to the merged mod?? any insights are greatly appreciated...
travelmedic Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 I've used Merge Plugins for Skyrim LE and overall had pretty good success with it, but learned a few lessons the hard way: Merging weapons, armors, generic waifu mods, etc all seemed to work without an issue. Don't try to merge anyone with custom dialogue, because Merge will re-roll all the formIDs or refIDs (or some ID) and break the dialogue trees. I didn't have any luck trying to merge player homes - the homes would be there, but often missing floors or walls or some other vital part, so don't do that. You'll want to set up your load order so that all mods that you want to merge are all together. Haven't played Skyrim or used this in a while, but it wasn't too difficult. The page I linked takes you to Skyrim LE, but it says it supports Fallout 4. Can't verify that from experience.
