Does leaving Skyrim on pause for a long time cause problems?

I have noticed that whenever I leave Skyrim on pause for around 5-10 minutes, when I unpause and enter a place or fast travel, I get an infinite loading. So this begs the question, is it bad to leave Skyrim on pause for a long time?

I wonder if it has something to do with what power-saving options you set for your computer.  For instance, Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Edit Plan Settings.

 

Click on "Change Advanced Power Settings" and a window with additional power settings appear.

Check "Hard Disk" > "Turn Off Hard Disk After" and see, maybe change, how long before the hard disk powers down.

Also check the settings for "Sleep".
