PeacefulPatriot Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 So I reinstalled New Vegas after a big Fallout Hiatus and installed some LL mods as well as Project Nevada. I got crashes on startup. No biggie, I just have some mod conflicts. I spent 2 hours trying to iron out all of the conflicts an missing masters with no luck. Eventually I decided to just run the game with no data files except the DLC from the NVSE loader. Boom, crash on startup. I loaded from the stock New Vegas .exe and everything works fine. What did I do that caused NVSE to crash my game and prevent me from running any mods requiring NVSE?
leddis3 Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Are you using a 4gb/large address aware patch? My FNV can no longer start without it, I don't know if it's due to NVSE alone since I've never bothered to troubleshoot, but it's a possibility.
PeacefulPatriot Posted June 16, 2013 Author Posted June 16, 2013 Hmm, no, I haven't tried that. I figured the 4GB patch was made official, since I was able to run New Vegas well enough without it a few months ago, but I'll download one and see if that'll work. Edit: No good. I got it running with no mods at first, but once I started installing mods again, it started crashing again, even after I unloaded all the mods.
Guest Shendar Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 If you get crashes with only official DLC installed then it means your NVSE archive is dated or messed up. Try redownloading and reinstalling it from http://nvse.silverlock.org/. I had exact same problem a few weeks ago. Reinstalling NVSE 3 beta 2 with NVSE Extender fixed all crashes. Edit: NVSE Extender - http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/27-nvse-extender/
