theskid Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I have managed to successfully remodel some meshes to an acceptable status to fit another body, and have managed to get them working in game, but I do have some questions.  1. While remodelling i deleted the meatcaps. Should I delete the bodymesh  I used to remake the mesh, import a new body with meat caps, and then export?  2. The breasts clip a bit when running. This can't really be seen by the player and is unlikley  to be seen on npc's unless the you give them the outfit and then watch them run at you somehow. Would using the bone weight copy script to copy the weights from the body to the shirt fix this, as I am a bit ocd in these things, and if so how do I do it. Should the item I am copying to be light pink (selected) or dark pink (the also selected object), and should I use gerra's bone weight copy , or the blender one? (step by step spelled out for a moron would probably help with this one, if you feel kindly;) Â
anubis Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 1. No, in nifskope you can just copy the meatcaps from vanilla armor and copy branch it into your exported armor, just make sure you rename it properly.  2. BBP or not ? Would be using bone weight copy script can fix that ? yes, for copy weight first you have to select/highlight the mesh with weight that you want (the body) then select the none weighted mesh (the armor) then click Object -> Scripts -> Bone Weight Copy, a tab should show usually i check "No X Crossing" with Quality 3 (4 is better but longer procces). Yes you should use Gerra's Bone Weight Script, improvement of Blender Bone Weight Copy script i can say, but using blender one should work as well. Just remember Bone Weight Copy is not always perfect, sometime you need to retouch it again with manual (weight painting) especially for creating a natural BBP breast movement.    Here is the tutorial that i learn the first time.
BruceWayne Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I'm in the (painfully slow) process of learning Blender and learned that you can hide the meatcaps (or any other meshes) by selecting them and pressing H if they obscure your view. You can unhide them with ALT-H again. I don't know if this is advisable, but I guess it's easier to retrofit or reuse the existing meatcaps, than to reimport them afterwards.  Unless of course, there is something else to consider.
D_ManXX2 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 or it would be easier to just move the meatcaps to different layer by pressing the m key in the object window.
ElvenScoundrel Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 As for deleting the body, only delete what ISN'T visible, like what's UNDER the clothes/armor. Everything visible should stay there.
theskid Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 Thanks for the advice. I am blundering along quite nicely.
