airnox Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 The enchanting perks are clearly under the Warrior. As it has the same coloured lines as the other trees under Warrior. Warrior has red lines across the perks. This includes enchanting. Archery has the yellowish green lines, because it's under Thief. Yet people are saying diffrently, that enchanting belongs under Mage. What? That makes the Warrior having 5 trees Thief 6 trees Mage 7 trees? Even Alchemy has green lines as it belong under the Thief. If enchanting belongs to the Warrior then each would have 6 trees. So to anyone that can 100% confirm, where does the enchanting tree belong to? Because i'm about to enchant alot of items. Solved: Here it is. The unofficial patch place Archery under the Warrior. If you don't have the patch, then the Warrior will have 5 skills and Archery will level up faster with the Thief. Enchanting belongs to the Mage.
Just Don't Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 Smithing-> Combat crafting skill Enchanting-> Magic crafting skill Alchemy-> Stealth crafting skill One could argue about Alchemy since in Oblivion it was a magic skill... but I don't think you can make the case for Smithing being a stealth or magic related skill. And Enchanting is literally imbuing magic into an object and is performed, by common knowledge and ingame dialogues, by the College of Winterhold.

Well yes that makes sense of course, but that is not what the perks menu tells you. If Enchanting belongs to Mage, then the Warrior has less tree perks compared to the others. Like i said, it has the Warriors coloured lines, but that makes no sense at all. Ok so enchantings belong to Mage. Thanks
Just Don't Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 Three less? What are you talking about? There are 18 skills, each archetype gets 6. I don't know what does the perk menu tells you, but Enchanting is placed besides the 5 schools of magic, just like Smithing is near the combat skills and so on. And again, you can argue about some of these classifications, like Alchemy or Archery. But I don't see how you're missing three skills for combat.
ebbluminous Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 Warrior has: Heavy Armour Light Armour Smithing Block One Handed Two Handed Unless someone re-wrote the laws of Maths while I was asleep, that is 6 skills.

Because if enchanting belongs to the Mage, then the Warrior has 5. Thief 6 Mage 7 Warrior: 1h, 2h, block, Smith, heavy armor 5 Thief: archery, light armor, sneak, speech, pickpocket, lockpick 6 Mage: Alt, Res, Des, Conj, illusion, enchanting, Alchemy. 7 Edit: you said "Alchemy-> Stealth crafting skill" ????????? What? What are you talking about?? That makes the Thief at 7 and Mage 6 Warrior 5. Alchemy is clearly under Mage LOL wtf is going on here. Nevermind i am going to test this tomorrow myself
Just Don't Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Test what?? You're free to open a wiki and see this yourself. You can have a different opinion if that makes you happy.

Archery and alchemy are a bit of an issue due to how these skills were classified (and governed by certain attributes) in past games. But the division of 18 skills into the 3 archetypes with 6 skill each is a given.

Wich makes sense, because of sneak skills that utilize bow weapons. That wiki is wrong. Whether you agree with me or not. Archery levels up faster with the Thief. Sorry, but the Warrior only has 5 skill trees if enchanting belongs to the Mage. @ebbluminous moving skills edition lol Ah im going to test enchanting tonight, if its Mage or Warrior and will come back to confirm.
Just Don't Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Suit yourself. I think you're a bit late to this party tho. But as I said, you're free to check wikis, do your tests and have your own opinion on the matter. But what's your thought process here? You mention Archery being part of The Thief because the standing stone effect mentions or benefit it in leveling? Okay, so you'll find that Enchanting is a Mage skill. If you read a bit about that wiki, which must be wrong but you can check other sources and find similar information, you'll find out that Archery being affected by The Thief was considered a bug, since every other internal reference to Archery treats it as a combat skill. Or is your argument that in past games Archery was stealth, and Alchemy magic, so Enchanting must be a combat skill? No, that doesn't line up at all. Like I said, Bethesda has fucked skills from game to game because they keep reducing them. But Enchanting has always been a magic related skill and in Skyrim each archetype gets 6 skills and these are all over the internet.

I want real people that can confirm this 100%. Its an 10+ old game, i already should have a clear answer to this. But whether Archer is a bug or not, the game still puts it under the Thief. That makes the Warrior having 5 skills. I mean Archery belongs to the Thief just by common sense right? So you're saying the Thief should only utilize daggers? That aint right. Even you have to agree with me on this. I just wanted to know where enchanting belongs to. You confirmed its under Mage, then ok. Im not saying i don't believe you. I just wanted confirmation. But the whole discussion makes me wonder, so i will test it later. Im not putting enchanting under Warrior because of Alchemy and Archery. I only based this off of the perk menu. Because it has the Warrior colours. Just like Archery has the Thief's colours. This is what im confused about. Im not late to the party, i just forgot everything about this game. I played this game 10 years ago on ps3. I don't remember all this. And i do agree with you that Enchanting belong and should be under the Mage. The only way for each class to have 6 skills is to put Archery under Warrior, wich is just stupid imo. Now i have to test Archery see if it levels up faster with Warrior or the Thief. Funny discussion though lmao Talk you guys later, have to work.
