Need Help with a Strip Club Problem

I updated Nisa's file in October when it was available, but the owner of my strip club hadn't opened in a while although I've played the household. When I visited today, everything is inside and the building is the same, but my panel says, "You own no businesses."

I've deduced the club ran out of funds while I wasn't running it actively, it shows zero business funds.

THIS IS THE PROBLEM:

  1. I cannot buy the business. It says "can't buy occupied businesses".
  2. I cannot sell the business, because it is not "mine" anymore although I can enter, go to build mode, lock the doors, etc.
  3. I cannot change lot type to retail, or from generic. I can't do anything in that way.
  4. I cannot transfer household funds to the business to pay back taxes to get it back somehow.

Is there any way to get it back if this is what happened? I searched online but there's nothing with this particular issue.

Thank you for any suggestions!

Have you tried evicting your household from the current residential lot via the world screen (click the three dots in the bottom right corner)? Kicking Sims out of their houses should also end their ownership of any business, IIRC.

If all else fails, you can always save the owner household to the gallery through CAS (so you can re-import later) and then delete it through the household management window (top right, next to the gallery in the world overview). Without any owner present in your current game, the lot should become available/changeable again, as unowned lots have infinite funds in Build mode. Once it works again, place your owner household back into the game or buy the club with some other Sim.

Be warned that both of these approaches (if they work as they should) will send you back to square one, so you'll have to set up everything again (employees, assignments,...).

I've not tried that work around. but I did try moving the owner to another household. which didn't work. I had already saved and shared the strip club lot already into the Gallery so there's that.

This household of 8 Sims is one of my oldest, the most complex, each having extensive bloodlines in every other household I have in game. I've had to save households to gallery from an earlier saved game and reintroduce them back to a current save game.  I'm not even concerned with the 5million they earned, but all their bloodlines and place on their genealogy is erased when you remove them from game. They lose all their relationships, its a blank slate.

Seriously. EA should have some set way to get a business back or just totally lose it and it be up for sale on the market on its on. If you can't pay your taxes or expenses, for example, your business is closed and put up for sale. That's tough, but it makes sense anyway. They should already have that in the game. Maybe its there just for the base game, but having these particular mods makes that impossible.

I did try going in build mode to sell items and boost funds in the business account but it didn't register at all. It's just a total limbo: owning/not owning a business lot and building you can do anything with but open.

I just tested it again with the latest version of both the game and WW.

Evicting the household that owns a business (any business, including a strip club) will make that business available for purchase again (although you will lose the furniture in the strip club, because the "furnished" option is not available for some reason), while keeping all existing relationships and the likes intact (because your Sims were only evicted, not killed, culled or manually deleted). They will behave like any other household that doesn't occupy a house or apartment and can easily be moved onto a residential lot again from the Household Management window (use the cheat "freerealestate on", if they can't afford their former home).

When playing with that household, it will be as if they had just moved into the neighborhood, so expect the welcome wagon and all that.

The fully furnished strip club can be placed from the Gallery, after purchasing the lot again (although your Sims will need the money for the changes in Build mode, so it may be time for the "motherlode" cheat). You can have the lot bulldozed when buying it, doesn't matter.

As a final step, you'll have to hire all of the employees again, assign spots for lapdances and so on, but that is quickly done.

I have a similar problem, i buy the strip club but i can’t transfer funds and the tipical shoe in the phone to manage the club is not there, i already tried evicting my sims and everything but is not working

The icon for the strip club menu is no longer a shoe with the new in-game phone. It is a dancer now, with a yellow background similar to that of the "Business" menu.

As for transferring funds, I have already had similar issues in the past, also with vanilla businesses like retail stores and restaurants. For me, it was just that the dialogue window for moving funds between household and business sometimes didn't pop up after purchasing the lot. The little icon to transfer funds (next to the currently active budget) always shows up, though, so I could bring up that window manually and then continue as usual.

I just updated all my mods and I can't transfer funds to my strip club business using the phone menu or any cheats.  Funds won't move.  But if I sell the business, I get the funds into my house account.  What else should I check for in order to transfer funds and open up business??  I'm at a complete loss.  #helpplease!
