I've been questioning why none of the females in Yakuza Kiwami have any mods, so I did some testing to find out. Suffice to say, the results are less than steller.

Hair transparency is utterly broken. It's so obvious that it's impossible to ignore.

I have been incapable of figuring out how to fix it, and I doubt I can find out on my own. It's frustrating.

This one works for the most part. Hair transparency is still broken, but it isn't as obvious. (From the front, at least)

@MemoryH What are you doing for the tests? are you retexturing or model swapping? Something else entirely? It's important to know so we can theorize what may be the cause of the transparency issues.

Retexturing and model swapping. Simply opening the model and saving it cause bugs to appear.

The solution wasn't all that obvious at all. :/

I'll add the solution to the guide once I have a working mod up and running.

Yeah, I've run into this bug before when exporting models in blender so I'm excited to see what the solution might be. If I had to guess, it would probably have something to do with a material or texture setting getting defaulted on import.

It's...actually something more elusive than you'd think.

 

Anyway, I'm almost done. I wanted to get this hat working before I moved onto the rest of Yumi's models. That's another thing I'll have to add to the guide.

you should work with games that use dragon engine since they are more stable and easier to understand

I have some technical experience when it comes to 3D models, so I can help with any technical issues you have. Plus, I just finished all the games (except 7) and would love to help with some mods.

Can you send the Haruka model? I have an idea of what's going wrong. My first guess would be a problem with the shadow mesh.

That's nothing. I figured it out. It's just a texture assignment issue that I didn't notice.

 

Anywho, it's finally done.

[Y1]Haruka - Schoolgirl Twinpack.rar

 

I made two versions:

- A normal version, which is a straight port of the original schoolgirl outfit.

- A miniskirt+spats combo.

 

And here's the guide I've cooked up. Use this in conjunction with the Yakuza 5 modding guide.

Weird that nobody ever made a mod for Hayashi concerning his zombie status in the spin-off entry. Guess people seriously hates "Yakuza: Dead Souls".

 

It's been uploaded to Nexusmods.

Aw crap, the Haruka model is missing a shadow for the gameplay model. Needs a fix.

 

Anyone want Haruka in MesuKing outfits? :3

I tried to mod Kiwami 2. I can't get it to work, so I'm going back to Kiwami 1.

LoversLab even allows non-nude mods, so you're fine. I don't see anything in the rules explicitly prohibiting non-adult mods, and I have seen a lot of non-adult mods on the site as well (costumes, skins, etc.)

@MemoryH Don't be so hard on yourself. LL is a modding forum in general, it was just born and raised on nude mods. I'd say you're doing fine.

Found this fancy outfit in Kiwami 1. Textures were low-rez, but @Malixano pointed out that Kiwami 2 has the same outfit with higher-rez textures. Thank you for that. I didn't port the Kiwami 2 model because there was no difference in vertices count.

 

It has roughly 10 different texture patterns, so it will take a while to get them all prepared.

It's mostly a straight port, but with the additon of a shinobi sword and shoes from the kimono outfit. Was hoping to create a kunoichi. XD

 

Speaking of weapons, this probably means I can pack as many weapons to a charater's model for extra laughs. Kiryu with many swords and guns... :O

Try following this guide. Infinite loading is a common error for Dragon Engine mods and is usually caused by textures not being done correctly.

Made a swimsuit mod, found the model in Yakuza Zero. Might have to give this model to a different character, though... (Like her mother, whom I keep ignoring. >_>)
