NepoznatiNN Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Recently i started to learn 3D Studio Max for my own fun , and with big help from Nightasy tutorial (on Nexus/Youtube) . I am still beginner , but it goes well until i need to put something in game . For example : i made simple prostitute skirt (no shoes , no upper part , skirt only for now) , made texture , normalize it with Gimp , added it in trash container in Goodspring (i am bad with Geck - for some reason it was created in all trash containers in game) . It looks good in 3D Studio , it looks good in Nifskope : free upload but does not show up in game : screen capture freeware Here is file from my working directory (it is same as it was in game , added corectly with Nifskope , but i was panicked and changed too much in attempt to make it work) : http://speedy.sh/BnHbx/Radni-direktorij.rar It should be made for Type6M BNB body (if i made it correctly) , but some step in Nifskope or some thing in game is missing . BTW: all is my work (texture is highly changed public domain image) so if someone want it and can make it to work (i highly doubt someone will like it - it is after all beginner stuff) it is free resource . Here are some other early exercises , all without textures , made as base for future changes (allso free resources) : overall free image hosting http://speedy.sh/yvMj5/OverallKragna.rar short pants image hosting over 5mb http://speedy.sh/QDEgZ/KratkeHlace3.rar and lover part of one-piece swimsuit photo uploading http://speedy.sh/u3dUp/BadeKostimBase.rar i tried to add them in game too , with simple one color texture , but have same results If someone can check what i am doing wrong , that would be great help . Cheers
prideslayer Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Did you copy the texture into your data folder, into the right place? Say your outfit is 'foo.nif' and the texture 'foo.dds'. You need to install the mesh to data\meshes\NepoznatiNN\foo.nif, and the texture to data\textures\NepoznatiNN\foo.dds. Then in the .nif, the BSShaderTextureSet node's texture should be referencing "textures\NepoznatiNN\foo.dds". I'll download your file and take a peek.
prideslayer Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 looks like the textures in the NIF are referencing the wrong directory and i'm not sure the node they're attached to in the NIF is right either but I could be mistaken about that. In the NIF the texture path is set to, e.g., "c:\radni direktorij\suknja_d.dds" That will work fine in max and nifskope, but not in the game engine, which can't read anything outside the data directory -- and paths must be relative to that.
NepoznatiNN Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 File i attached is my "final" meshes & textures from my working directory , in game i put nif in data/meshes/armor/moji modovi (that is croatian for my mods ) and textures in data/textures/arrmor/moji modovi and changed path with Nifskope so that can find textures in game - picture with nifskope is from nif from game . Something else is fucked , 3d Studio is easy to make textures but according to Nightasy tutorial they are fucked so you need to get them through Gimp to repair them , than manually add them with nifskope again . It is probably some small thing but i do not know what , either i need some other step in nifskope (add some more parametar) , or it is something with body mods in my game (i put 1st BOG body replacer for textures (like hairy pussies) than add T6M for bodie shape (it does not have textures anyway) and at end added T6M BNB add on) , maybe that was wrong and to someone that did not changed so much will work without problems . Cheers
prideslayer Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 If the textures were there but just 'fucked' then they would show up 'fucked' in the game engine -- not invisible. Copy a known good texture from some other asset over the top of yours in the data directory and test. If you get a render with an ugly fucked up texture, then yes, your textures are corrupt. If not, the texture path in the NIF is still wrong and you need to fix that first, then put your own textures back in place.
NepoznatiNN Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 I did it and result is same - no body in game and in Nifskope is all OK : image upload no limit you can see in picture that i add correct path (used robco suit for skirt and some metal texture from some prostitute outfit for kopca (buckle or hook or whatewer is it called in english)) what concern me most is that at least parts of body not covered with skirt should be visible , maybe there are 2-3 problems at once BTW if that helps somehow that is what i get when try to change Biped Model of prostitute outfit to my nif with GECK: greenshot screen capture (don't worry because different name - i made test esp for overall first (with same results) but rename skirt to overall when put in game , it is for testing only) Cheers
prideslayer Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I think the problem is that in the NIF you have it in this "SukNja" thing, but for the engine it needs to be UpperBody. I may be completely wrong, but that's my guess. Keep testing with the robco texture until you get it working right in the geck and game, so you will know when the path is right -- then copy your texture back in there to see if it's OK or not.
Guest Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I had the same issue with Blender until I learnt I had to weight the body, everything was fine in nifskope but it was invisible in game. Also there's that "shadowmap" thing that I've read it could not show textures in game if not checked. But I don't know 3d studio so I don't know if it has the same procedures as in Blender to export clothes, in Blender if you simply export a brand new nif you still can see it correctly in nifskope but not in game. EDIT: I usually have the wrong texture in GECK (in game everything goes well then) but the mesh should be ok there. If you don't see at least the mesh in GECK, I suppose it's a mesh problem as I wrote over here, probably you miss something while you export it. Oh, about you putting the item inside a trashcan and it appears everywhere, simply click on the trashcan inside the object window: when it opens the window with its features, change its ID (call it MYTRASHCAN for example), put the name you like, it will tell you it will create a new form for this new trashcan, say ok. Then put this new one inside the game wherever you want. Place your items there and only there. EDIT: I tried to edit it on Blender, to see if it was visible ingame after the usual procedure I use to export things. But it doesn't allow me to import it, I "cleaned" all the other parts in nifskope and I left only the skirt itself, but it's the same. I chosed to import only the skeleton just to make a try, and it's the same too. Sorry, I don't have any more ideas, it's like if my Blender doesn't understand your mesh. I post you a picture on how my meshes appear on nifskope, just to make a comparison, look at those Nimaterials/Nistencils http://www.mediafire.com/view/54b4tijafdqw4gg/2nifs.jpg#
NepoznatiNN Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 Prideslayer - i hoped for a moment that this UpperBody name will be solution (that game need at least one thing called that) , but nope , it is just name , some multipart clothes are called upperbody01 .... upperbody22 and for example Sunny-s outfit from that mod (clothes from Skyrim) are all caled like TriPlane or TriCube ... Tried to open in Nifskope naked body and add clothes as objects from scratch and save it as my nif, it ended good in nifscope but when i try to export it in game i got some error messages (numbers are about BSLigtningShaderProperty) : upload AJ thanks for info about GECK Cheers
Guest Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Prideslayer - i hoped for a moment that this UpperBody name will be solution I'm not sure I've understood this, but I assure you my meshes have never things called upperbody inside... :-O
kingkong Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 if i can when you copy and past in nifskop sometime it put an invalide number instead of the correct value go to BSLigtningShaderProperty and erase the number of Num Extra Data List check also that in nitrishape it did not change value and just for test try to take your nif file and put it instead of your body character rename it and see if it appears in game. (i can not try your nif as i erased the game and brock the cd)
NepoznatiNN Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 At least i know it is not Texture that is wrong - i added skirt texture on Bummer headgear and it is showing in game jpg images Fact that body is not shoving is probably result of me using same test esp that is made for body armor and not headgear . Anyway , i will not give up , probably will make some shirt that is going with that skirt (maybe in a way that i will cut upper part of already made overall) and add some vanilla boots . Boomer hat with new texture looks nice . Hope someone will find solution . Cheers Edit: kingkong - Num Extra Data List is 0 , can you tell me which value in nitrishape (and what should be/with what i compare it) ?
prideslayer Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Send a PM to user29, masterchris, and/or evilrunner. They all have quite a bit of experience creating textured models and may be able to tell what's wrong by looking at your NIF. I don't actually do any of this myself so I'm kinda guessing based off what I know of using nifskope to fix broken animations and sexout props..
NepoznatiNN Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 Thanks , i will try 1st with user29 because i making that clothes (which are combination of Slut/Hooker/SomeKindOfUniform) with his Breeder mod in mind (Riverside/Novac Deathclaw part - i was thinking as some kind of way to female guards/policewomans to stay alive , get captured , raped and after some time they decide to stay and when not breeding with deathclaws wear that uniform and help defend Riverside & Novac) . Edit : as promised , i made rest of suit , but still only hat is working . It is in new sack in front of Goodspring general store . Until someone find out what is wrong it is better to use for testing only (but if you can find some benefit from stuff how it is now feel free) . Hat (it does work OK with normal armor , only my is reason for body dissapearing) img host Whole thing in Nifskope (remember it does not show in game) screenshot tool File http://speedy.sh/scfGS/Slut-Uniform.rar
Guest user29 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I'm really haven't created anything from scratch like this before so I'm not sure I can help you. I've just become proficient at pregifying meshes and making mashup mutations. Sorry The others will probably be able to help though.
kingkong Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 i think it is more a directory or a ESP probleme than your file by the way very nice uniform gives the envie of having the game back.
NepoznatiNN Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 Well , saga is continuing - i just find out that with Nightasy tutorial about making Skyrim armors i made just that - Skyrim armor over Fallout NV body . Now i rewraped it with 3D studio as Fallout 3 armor (there is not Fallout NV option in plug in) . There is some improvement - armor and body are in game (with textures) , but not where they should be : 20mb image hosting new nif http://speedy.sh/QDj4Z/Slut-Uniform-New-Nif.rar Cheers Edit : and BTW does someone know how to apply textures on booth sides , so if someone look under the skirt (who would do that ?) it does not look transparent . (I know how to do that for Skyrim armor - in shader lighting property there is Shader Flags 2 where you check SF double sided but Fallout armors have only one Shader Flags menu and i do not see that option in it)
Guest Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 "...probably you miss something while you export it" "Now i rewraped it with 3D studio as Fallout 3 armor" This god, some days I'm worser than ever when I need to explain myself I'm glad you worked it out! "Edit : and BTW does someone know how to apply textures on booth sides" Did you try to set this? IT should be 19840 http://www.mediafire.com/view/w44c7wux1ax12ay/stencil.jpg
NepoznatiNN Posted May 30, 2013 Author Posted May 30, 2013 Still didn't find clue what i'm doing wrong , only improvement from my last message is that if i open clean body in Nifskope and copy armor on it at least i have body back but armor is still floating in the air . Tried something new and simpler , just changing existing armor and results are same : Tried to make Type6M BNB version of Powdergang Slave clothes (that are used in Hard Prison Time & KennelSlut) because T6M is much sexier than slim body existing one . It looked OK in 3D Studio and Nifskope : image upload without registration screen shot tool but when i tried it in game that was result : how to screenshot on windows when i in Nifskope added that armor on clean body , i got again at least body back but armor is still flying : screenshot utility

NepoznatiNN Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 Told you that i will not give up . prideslayer tried to help me , user29 was fair and told that he doesn't know , other talked mostly about Rainbows & Unicorns . Finally i found solution (i'm not sure that will work in all cases but for now it working), and will describe it so it can become small tutorial for people with same problems (if someone who really know English , and not only guessing how something should be written redact it) and it does have some pictures too (at least until imageshare site delete them) . - In start i made new clothes (Type6M) , they ware OK in 3D Studio Max & Nifskope , but in game i had neither body neither clothes . - when i move that clothes with Nifscope on clean body , i got in game body but clothes ware flying in sky over my character . - then i made new ones (used Powder Ganger clothes and made from scratch Type6M version of Powder Slave clothes used in Sexout) - result was the same - good thing with this new ones was that very similar already existed so i could check in Nifskope point by point what is different - in my case i needed to - change for each part made in 3D Studio in NiTriShapeData - Num UV Sets from 1 to 4097 - change for each part in BSShaderPPLightingProperty - Shader Flags (needed to uncheck some and to check some new ones too - comparing with existing clothes) I am not saying that this way will help to each problem people have , but it is good to have/made something to compare with . BTW when you make clothes try to make them not so close to body , that way you will avoid skin showing through when running/crouching (i needed to Paint Weights to remove that) This is final result : Powder Gang Slave cloth (Type6M , looks little more massive and sexy than skinny old ones) , BTW i leaved boots (in my opinion even when you are sex slave , none would fuck girl with heavy gangrena) photo sharing sites http://speedy.sh/Y2MRb/Powder-Slave.rar I also made something i call Powder Slut uniform, which is less exposing (in a way you are willing hooker , not slave) (i can imagine few uses for it - for example someone could make add on to Encounters/Resolutions in which Joe Cobb compel womens in Goodspring , maybe each day other , to service Gangers , or in Tryout/Kennel when you finish and Eddie is still alive , you still do not have reason to come back , someone could make small reapetable add on where you can come back to be Powder Gangers Hooker for 1 day , more if you want , for small amount of Dynamite and Pistol&Rifle Powder , same thing could be made for Vault 19) Here it is , with and without Hat : pc screenshot http://speedy.sh/aeHSG/Powder-Slut.rar Cheers
NepoznatiNN Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 Thanks , i used Powder Gangers texture for Pwder Slut uniform too , seems like it is made out of excess PG uniforms patchworks , but if you do not like it you can always put other texture . BTW , here is repaired my Power Slut clothes with which i started this thread : image upload with preview screen capture windows 7 http://speedy.sh/eFGUa/Slut-Uniform.rar
NepoznatiNN Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 Repaired Hot Pants & Overall mentioned in 1st post . I added shoes & shirt to hot pants (and texture) , to overall added shoes & belt (and simple vault-like texture) . Again if you like it or find any use , it is free resource , i am making this as learning process. image hosting 30 mb image hosting without account http://speedy.sh/baYFM/HotPants.rar image hosting site greenshot http://speedy.sh/GTapH/Overall-Vault-69.rar
