lordofthedread Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I was wondering why nobody thought about doing that before since we are plenty to use ECE and we can save the presets, we can then share them to LL community also. I will release a few later today and post them here along with screenshots. If you are interested to share your presets please tell which ENB and mods (face, textures, eyes etc..) you were using. It will also be interesting to see how a preset will render on different computer / mod settings ENB. Here you go 1 High Elf, 1 Imperial and 1 Breton preset. I use E ENB, SG textures renewal and too many hairs to list them all ... Presets.7z And here how they look like on my side :
Guest SemiPr0 Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Ooo....tricky. I could do a lot of ECE presets I'd be willing to share but I'm not sure about my primary character. There is a point where open sharing becomes completely generic. I'm not sure how far you can apply open source philosophy to game modding, but I'm pretty sure that people with original faces and looks might feel a little put off by 100 clones. I know Sienna has been near copied several times. Silmeria is a constant object of obsession for re-creatable data....but if all that stuff was just freely shared then what small pride could at least the most unskilled Skyrim modder potentially take? Even the character creator could provide them better faces than they could create. Hate to stomp on your parade Lord O'Dread, but an an original face and look is the one last bastion of the Skyrim user that doesn't have the ability to mod themselves. I don't think this is a good idea. I revel in every unique character I see. I don't want to see 25 copies per unique character.
lordofthedread Posted May 25, 2013 Author Posted May 25, 2013 I dont force anybody to share his/her presets, I personally have no problems if anyone plays one of my toons and even makes screenshots with it as he/she will probably be more skilled at doing so, I personally find the use of a poser mod quite boring. I certainly have no problems if someone plays with my character as I would not even know about it Remember this is a SOLO game not a MMORPG so you wont actually see copies of your character unless someone is sharing screenshots and there are milions of screenshots of Skyrim out there, again nothing forces you to share your presets but also not everybody can make a pretty face from scratch not counting that to obtain the same look as your own character we would have to use also the exact same ENB, body, hair and armor mods which is quite unlikely to happen not couting that many users will take it as a preset and tune it after to get maybe something totally different (but with a sane base to start with). As you quite understood already I am definitly not an artist in any way and I can totally understand that you dont want to share your main character preset but I also believe that you didnt made only one and there are some you might not really care about sharing It could even be a pride to see that one of your presets has been used by many users I dont see the difference between sharing a preset and sharing a follower mod, some people would gladly share their main character as a standalone follower wile other will not. Back to Skyrim to make and share a few presets on my own and time will tell if this thread will get users interested.....
gregathit Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Why was this posted in the downloads section? Where is the download? Let's start paying attention to where you are posting folks. Moved thread to general section.
