xLed Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 Soo I'm pretty new too the whole fallout 4 modding scene, and from what I'm understanding it shouldn't be to different from skyrim modding, but for some reason, I just can't get it to work, it just crashes, and feels like no matter what I try and do, I get it to crash. Soo here's what happens: Game start up, I press "New" and when then it starts to load in, but before I get into the game, it crashes. Here's the crash report: https://pastebin.com/Mndepg7A And I'm running it all through MO2. If I just need too start over, I'll do it, or if the mods I'm using won't ever work together, soo be it, I'll happily take any help I can get ❤️

Samuraitech Posted September 6, 2021 Posted September 6, 2021 I would start with the basics. You are running the game via Steam? Can you launch the game successfully via Steam? If not do a clean install of FO4 in Steam or you may be able to verify integrity of files. This is sometimes referred to as "Nuke from Orbit" Ensures all bad things are dead and gone and you have a clean and sterile base from which to start. I run my game under: C:\Games\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 I assume you installed F4SE and installed the files in the game directory where Fallout4.exe is located. Run f4se_loader.exe as administrator. You will need the Fallout4.ini, Fallout4Prefs.ini, and Fallout4Custom.ini files. These will be created when you launch FO4 for the first time. You can also generate files with BethINI. Even if you have these files already I would install BethINI and run it to ensure all the proper settings are in your .ini files before starting to add Mods. If you don't know about BethINI or how to use it please ask. The .ini files are handled within MO2. Icon looks like puzzle pieces. I always copy my settings out of the actual .ini files under documents/games/FO4 and paste them into MO2. After that just adjust setting within MO2 as needed. MO2 is at revision v2.4.2 currently. Is this what you have installed? Ensure you also run ModOrganizer.exe as administrator. I also run my MO2 installations for each game as separate Portable instances and not the Global option. One for Skyrim and one for FO4. Each independent of the other. Now start MO2. Ensure F4SE is able to be launched from MO2. Use the icon that looks like gears. Add F4SE there as an executable. Under Binary Section ensure you have this: C:\Games\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\f4se_loader.exe This is using where my game is installed as an example. Yours may vary. If you knew all these procedures already, sorry. Some don't and it is very important to have a stable foundation before you even think about adding any mods. Now F4SE should now be viewable as icon over on the top right hand side of MO2. You should be able to launch game from there. Ensure Steam is running, and you have done all steps above. I would disable all Mods before launching via F4SE. If game loads then quit. Start adding mods as Indarello mentioned above a little at a time. Start with things like Bodyslide, Looksmenu, Unofficial FO4 Patch. Decide what body you are going to use, Vanilla, CBBE, Fusion Girl, TWB, Atomic Beauty, Wonderbody, etc. Add what I call Beauty Mods, (Body Texture, face texture, head mesh, hair, teeth, etc.). What you add will be dictated by your looksmenu preset or requirements of some other mod. If you don't know what you need at the moment then maybe just install Commonwealth Cuts, and The Eyes Of Beauty with body of choice. Just use texture that comes with that body mod for now. You can always update later, just keep it simple for now. You may want to see if the DLC Ultra High Resolution is installed. I usually disable this as it can cause the black/brown face bug. I would rather use mods for high resolution. You can keep all the DLC Ultra High Resolution.ba2 files and just cut out the DLC Ultra High Resolution.esm. I put mine in my FO4 mods folder under backup in case of future need. This will disable the Bethesda High Resolution solution in lieu of your own Mod preference for that. Create a new game when you start FO4 again (Via F4SE inside MO2) with the body of your choice and get it working. Don't use the save where you had the game crashing if you ever got to that point. I may be corrupted with all the mods you installed. If you want physics for the body then you can add that after you know the game starts. I would be conservative with the next steps. maybe add some weapons, add some clothes/armor. Add environmental mods like Luxor's mods, or Vivid Fallout. You may want to decide if you are going to use Armorsmith Extended or not. There are guides to read on modding FO4. This is the link for AAF guide. Wait to install this until you know you have a stable game. There are also many more on Nexus. By the way I have been modding FO4 since it came out. It will take time to learn all this. Just take it slow and ensure everything works before taking the next step. Remember only install mods a few at a time. Never ever add like a hundred mods and expect it all to work. If the game suddenly stops working, then remember what you last did and disable mods or figure out what you last did that broke it. Good Luck!
