How to get started?

Yes, SexLab is the main sexual framework.

First of all, if you are in Special Edition, be sure you get mods for Special Edition.

Then you need some basic stuff.

1) A mod manager. Vortex, Mod Organizer2, or whatever will be fancy for you.

2) Get SKSE. It is from skse.silverlock.org web site. Download and install. Very first step. Be sure the game starts after.

3) Start with some basic mod. A body replacer, for example. Alternate start, SkyUI. But do not install too many mods at the same time.

Start with one and test. Then install another one.

Some basic config will be:

* SKSE

* Body replacer for females

* Body replacer for males

* SkyUI (for the user interfaces and the configuration menu)

* FNIS (the main custom animation component)

* XPMSSE (a skeleton, very important for the animations)

* SexLab

* A couple of mods using SexLab to provide sex following your taste (here is impossible to recommend something, it all depends on your taste.)

I'm a noob to this myself..
Here's my list of sex / animation related mods in load order:

Schlongs of Skyrim - Core
Sexlab
Sexlab Aroused
Expressive Facegen Morphs
Flower Girls
ZaZ Animation Pack Immersive Wenches
Flower Girls SE - IW Patch
UIExtensions
MassMatchMaker (disabled)
ZaZ AnimationPack_Voice
SexlabMatchMaker
FNIS
High Poly NPC Overhaul
Sexlab_Solutions
Romance of NPCs
SL_Pleasure
Sexlab-AmorousAdventures
SLPrivacy
XPMSE
FlowerGirls SE - Adventures
Sexlab Romance
FNISspells
CBBE Slim (bodyslided)
Immersive Wenches - Immersive Citizens AI Overhaul Patch
Female Facial Animations

..with this setup you can ask (almost) every woman for a good time, and you even can lead them to somewhere more private. I enjoy Amorous Adventures very much, so I leave those women out til later.. ;)

SKSE requires you to launch it from the skse.exe, but doesnt vortex require you to start the game from inside vortex? so which one do i start the game with?

Okay i got it working and it the MCM lists skyUI but no others. Not sure if thats because they dont have configs or im missing something. I have attached an image of my mods list. Also if the mods are working, how do you change what clothing the npcs and player have on? is that part of the MCM?
