Lovers Fanged Revenge - updated

This was originally part of my ongoing Tamago Fertility Clinic mod, but the item that is the focus of this isn't really anything to do with fertility, and I'm a bit bogged down with a quest that has taken on a life of its own in the fertility clinic, so I thought I'd release this separately. I've had some fun writing it - and using the thing in game - so I'd be interested to hear what others think.

 

This is for female player characters only - if your toon is male, the quest is short and unsatisfying.

 

This is a short quest to obtain, and then use, the Fanged Protector. If you've read Neal Stephenson's 'Snow Crash' you may remember a female character using this defensive device. I'll spoiler some details -

 

 

The thing fits internally, and renders unconscious anyone screwing the wearer. She sometimes forgot she was 'wearing' it ...

 

 

Unlike the Snow Crash one, this version has a lethal option.

 

It is powerful, so I've added some limitations to stop it being too much so. It is slightly misnamed, as is pointed out in the quest. It needs refilling after each 'bite', and this cannot be done in combat and needs the player to have the necessary supply in their inventory. It cannot be equipped in combat, either. Obtaining fuel for it is a repeatable subquest, and can be a little tricky.

 

It seems to play fairly nice with other mods, including Player Slave Encounters  due to the above restriction, although some spanners in the works are possible.

 

To start the quest, check what's on sale in the Mystic Emporium that wasn't previously. There is a bit of running around involved; if you want to save some time, check the spoiler below.

I've been inspired to write this by the good people on this site, so this is for release here only, please.

 

Edit : Forgot the prerequisites : OBSE 2.0 and Lovers with PK, and probably Shivering Isles.

Update : new version 1.01 added. This won't need a clean save, just drop in the new esp _and put the ini file in the right place_

 

This version has a few bug fixes, and a few small changes/additions.

 

Most importantly, as long as the Protector stays in place, it won't require recharging. Should mean a lot less hunting Moon Asps.

 

Via the ini file, you can modify 4 variables -

 

biteTimerLength - this is not the length of the incapacitate effect, which is still 1 minute, it is the delay between Lovers signalling that sex is over and the incapacitate effect being added to the target. It will default to 3 seconds, which is the value used by version 1.0. It can be set to a minimum of 0.1 and a max of 6 seconds; ini file entries outside these bounds are ignored.

 

The remaining variables apply only to the lethal option. Killing rapists is not murder, and will never be penalised. For consensual sex however, there is a responsibilityThreshold variable, set to 30 by default. If your target's Responsibility is less than this, then again, killing them is not murder.

 

If their Responsibility is higher than the threshold though, and  lethalIsMurder is set non-zero, then death via the Protector's lethal option is murder, and will be treated as such by the game. Same for  lethalGiveInfamy; if the target's Responsibility is over the threshold and the Protector kills them, the player will be awarded infamy if this is variable is non-zero.

 

Note that you can have lethalIsMurder set to zero and  lethalGiveInfamy set to 1, or vice versa. Or both on, or both off.

Sorry if it's too obscure, but I like puzzles.When this was part of my other mod, you just bought the thing armed and working, but I found that unsatisfactory. It's not intended to be frustrating though, so I'll change the dialogue a little, and add a short walkthrough later today.

Sigh : having released this, I've now found a script error I hadn't noticed previously. It's not fatal, but while summoning trolls the script jSCPTrollSummoningQuestScript sometimes tries to summon more trolls than have been cloned, which generates console spam.

 

I have a fix for this, which won't require a clean save, but I'll hold off on posting it for a while to see if anything else shows up.

 

Edit : fixed stupid error that made the 'protector bite' spell report target as 'no name', and I seem to have lied about the infamy thing, oops. There are 2 timers at work here, one is the duration of the 'bite' spell, which I'm happy with at one minute; the other is the delay between Lovers reporting the end of sex and the spell being cast. This is currently 3 seconds, which may be a little long, so will be configurable in the next update.

Why does this sound like the movie "Teeth", about a girl with the mythical(although slightly possible) vagina dentata. In case anyone was wondering, the reason I said slightly possible is due to a condition that adds calcified cysts in the bady and can occasionally pop through soft tissue, vagina included. But also has been in many myths from different cultures but evolved into an urban legend even to this day. Sorry to ramble on, but  had to comment on this.

When the protector was part of my fertility clinic mod (inching its way forward, as an incidental NPC has mounted a takeover bid), it equipped into no slot and didn't need recharging. Put that on and turn on PSE. Oops. Spent a while staring at unconscious slavers, and decided it had to be toned down a little. As you say, who needs weapons (and that was without the lethal option, just beat them to death with your fists) ?

 

Edit : I'll be uploading a new version in a day or two. This will have the bugfixes I've noted above, and I've decided that normal operation of the thing shouldn't deplete its venom. This means that once equipped and loaded, it'll stay functional until it's unequipped. Should mean a lot less time hunting Moon Asps, and will make gangrape a very risky occupation in Cyrodiil if you use the lethal option.

It's an English mod and when you have sex or masturbate your "sex power" or something increases and sex inflict more harm to your partner and greater benefits for yourself the more sex power you have. You can change some setting via an .ini file.

Well I like it and glad I noticed your post and initial release of this.

 

I know it kind of breaks your story line, but I've gone ahead and changed it's in-game appearance, when equipped:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I was looking for something a bit more sharp and vicious looking, or possibly a miniture asp or snake, but located in basically the same area.

 

I'm thinking of making it an amulet slot vs. tail since I already use that slot for another item my PC wears nearly all of the time.

As usual with mods, anyone is obviously free to do whatever they like on their own system. I have considered making an amulet slot version, but haven't had time to get around to it. I don't think the slot really matters, but it needs to go into _a_ slot, or it just breaks mods like PSE.

 

As you note, my storyline is that the thing is extremely unobtrusive - it's still basically the device from _Snow Crash_ - so no visible fangs or teeth. I did toy with adding a heath drain during the act to anyone having sex with the wearer, but again, that's not the idea. Someone linked to the South African device in a post above; well, cause your rapist intense pain, and isn't he likely to kill you? Much safer to have him just drift off to sleep. Then kill him ...

Found one minor glitch today while testing the fatal shot of it, but need to retest to get the details.

 

After use on a female necromancer, I tried a necro-rape via WappyOne's RaperS. Got a message of Necromancer is unconscious, so I killed her, then retried the rape function. NG, but I need to retest to be sure it's not me doing something odd first.

 

Only reason I do the necro or after death rapes is collecting virginity form dead NPC victims, part of another MOD I run.

hmm maybe this could be worked into an assassin questline or thief questline? Like the assassin quest where u have to kill the ex imperial guard captain cept you use fanged revenge .Or maybe it reduces fatigue to 0 for an extented period of time so you can enslave(bravil slave trader).

In my games, I use it for disposing of nasty boss mobs, and, yes, Adamus Phillida.

 

If you use the lethal option, it makes assassinations trivially easy, and removes all the angst I usually feel when purifying the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary - they die happy.

 

The non-lethal leaves them unconscious for a minute, which is enough time to enslave half the Imperial Legion, never mind one NPC.
