Turd Ski Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 I have been having trouble getting Skyrim SE to even boot. I get the message REL/Relocation.h(441): failed to obtain modular handle. I have SKSE64 installed and didn't have issues until I added in the fixes part one and two off the Nexus. I also have the library installed and I'm kind of at a loss for what to do to fix it.
anjenthedog Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 If you mean Engine Fixes... you should be able to get the game to boot if you pull the second part manually placed files back out. It won't "fix it" and you'll get some protest from the game about - unable to fire up engine fixes - or something associated, but the game *should boot. I ran skyrim that way for almost two years because placing the part 2 files would result in similar behavior to what you're experiencing. As for how to solve the second part, to be perfectly frank, I don't know. On a fluke, the last time it was updated, I reinstalled part I (with the new ver) and then added the new part 2 as instructed, and all went well. Must have updated something it needs for another reason or the new ver solved some tertiary issue I'd been experiencing ... idk. good luck.
Bluegunk Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 A guy on Reddit said he had another SKSE-based mod that caused this crash to happen - that it was a mod conflict. Maybe check through for any out-of-date SKSE mods. Try re-installing Address Library for SKSE. Oh, and I trust this is not the VR game... It won't work with that.
Turd Ski Posted August 22, 2021 Author Posted August 22, 2021 Thanks ya'll for the replies I ended just taking out part two of the fix and it booted up just fine. The weird part is that the mods that weren't working before are working now so ima just say this. "It just works." - Todd Howard

My suggestion is just a workaround to keep you flying while you figure it out. (and PS> Glad it worked for you... sometimes my hacks don't work for others) best wishes
