Just Don't Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Not sure if I follow, but my understanding is that Microsoft Store/Gamepass versions of the game are somewhat protected and file modifications are not a thing you'll be able to do. For example SKSE won't work at all, so there it goes every mod requiring SKSE to begin with.

Xbox version is not moddable. You need a legal copy of the game to mod it, a PC version.

Only way to guarantee things will work is getting it from Steam. Note that there are two version of Skyrim, the most recent one (Special Edition) includes all 3 DLCs. The regular Skyrim version is not listed, but you can still buy it if you have direct links. If you are serious about using mods you'll need to keep in mind which version of the game you have and find mods compatible with that version. I'm not sure which version you were trying to get, so I'm mentioning this here. I would look into supported ways to get Steam credit where you live. For example there are ways to get digital visa-like cards where you can transfer money from a local bank account and make purchases with it. I don't know your exact situation so please look into it well so you don't lose money or get in trouble. I hope you can find a safe way to do it. Edited August 20, 2021 by Just Don't
