ollemoy Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Hey! So Ive installed about 40 mods for my skyrim. I usually get to play 10 hour progress into the game before I crash to desktop, no error. These crashes usually happen when i load my saved games(tried many different saves), when i load a city or place (both entering the place and fast travelling), after accepting quests, and also sometimes out of nowhere while travelling around. I have an extremely good computer and can play all games on ultra, and ive tried to lower graphics to high with no success. It did worked for some time but then it was back to how it was before. Ive started new games numerous times, i have also reinstalled the game and made sure that every mod i installed was installed correctly with the required side programs like SKSE, and FNIS. other things ive tried is TES5EDIT, CFF explorer and many other methods ive found online. But after not being successful so many times I gave up on trying to solve it myself. Do you have any suggestions? what do i do wrong? please help, as my game is unplayable. All help is greatly appreciated. if you need any more info let me know and I will post it as quickly as possible.
Guest SemiPr0 Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I'm kind of confused because I don't really understand, can you not load your saves at all? Or are you getting random CTD's? You seem to be describing both. Anyways if you're running a heavy graphic overhaul set of mods, the sad state of affairs is really that regardless of how good your hardware is anything higher than ugrids 5 is completely unstable. Ugrids 7 used to be acceptable but as of the most recent patches 1.7 - 1.9 its just become completely unusable unless you're literally using nothing but the base game and perhaps a body mod and thats it and even then its kind of sketchy. Now if you can't load a save file without crash to the desktop there are a couple of things that could be causing that. 1.) The obvious missing master/plugin file which has another plugin that requires them as a dependancy (which you've likely already checked) 2.) A bad nif file for an armor or weapon mod that hasn't been correctly fixed in Nifskope can cause this as well and you don't even have to be wearing/using it it just CTD's the save load regardless. Problem is you probably don't know which mesh is the problem.....I usually know which mesh is causing my issue in this regard cause its usually a mesh I'm editing or have edited but forget to face and update in Nifskope before loading the game. Disabling all armor/weapon mods can help to try to pinpoint this as a potential issue. 3.) You could have some mod installed (we haven't seen your load order so its hard to say) that has a massive world cell conflicts with multiple world cells and that can also cause a direct CTD on save load if you're in the world cell with the conflicts. So overall not enough information and your description is kind of confusing. But I hope I've provided some helpful information just the same.

NOTHING should be loaded below your bashed patch, or WATER only thing that takes priority over WATER is Wet and Cold. Second your Papyrus log seems to indicate its having issues with script calls in your save from Apprentice of Thuum....which isn't in your load order. Did you ever have that mod installed?

BOSS can help with this but its not always entirely accurate. To fix that you need to understand what cells these mods are editing and ensure that you order your load order in a manner to ensure that they are not conflicting. Also your ESM's are out of order, do them like this: 00 Skyrim.esm01 Update.esm02 BBLuxurySuite.esm03 Evil Lair of Hydra.esm04 moonpath.esm 05 RaceCompatibility.esm 06 MagicDuelReborn.esm 07 SexLab.esm 08 ClimatesOfTamriel.esm09 SPIKE.esm I don't use BBLS or ELoH or Moonpath but the others I do use and thats what works best for me as a master load order (not including my DLCS).
Aleanne Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Some things you can try : Backup your Skyrim.ini / SkyrimPref.ini, then delete them, use the skyrim launcher to generate new ones, then try to load your save. Some tweaks to ini files are known to cause problems (ugrids, z fighting tweaks notably) If using an ENB, try to launch the game without it. Also do not mess with enbeffect.fx. If you're using textures packs, download a memory monitor (for example http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/2006//?), if RAM usage exceeds 3 GB then you're going to crash fast. If so, remove or optimize your textures packs.

Great that you found the issues that may cause my CTD. I did install that mod, and i made sure i had checked the plugin in NMM. How do i edit my load order? got so many different softwares now:P and do you have some guide on how to best have the load order? I need the same kind of info to fix the ESM issue. I just used BOSS and first did a scan of all problems i had, then I ran BOSS again , this time letting it do changes based on the first scan. all was fixed, cleaned etc. however my load order is still a mess, which is weird because when i run TES5EDIT there are no error. If you could send a guide on how you did your load order, then that would be great since you have most of the same mods. one mod i did uninstall due to the CTD is Sneak Tools, do you know if there is something wrong with the mod or do you use it?

If you have a delinquent master or something the mod checker option will tell you. If you have problems with a specific mod go check the forum of that mod or ask the question there, read the descriptions of mods because the solution to your problem is often there.

This will sometimes kill invalid scripts in a save but its not a 100% fix either. And using Wrye or NMM simply go to where your load order is shown in the interface and drag the plugins around into different places to reposition them. Your esp load is a mess too but its a bit extensive to go over what in that list should go where and people have various opinions. But let me help you with the bottom of your list...the stuff BOSS isn't sorting because it doesn't know where to put it yet. 42 Cuteunitized Twohanded Dawnbreaker.esp This is just replacer I believe so it doesn't really matter where it is as long as its below any other mod that might affect Dawnbreaker, I generally place stuff like this fairly high in my load order but below anything that is modifying leveled lists (trade mods, anything thats extending crafting that kind of thing) 43 EZ_MagicSets.esp [Version 1.0]44 Wrath Of Nature.esp Magic and Game Mechanics Mods tend to work best low in your load order but above anything that edits companions or the player chargen system. 45 Lilium_Companion.esp46 DorianFollower.esp Companion mods should be loaded above UFO if they don't modify facial structures of stock NPC's, below UFO if they do. 47 Skill Config.esp This is a game mechanic mod I believe so you should place it below your magic alteration mods. 48 playerguildbuilding.esp49 DarkTower.esp4A BYOH-Bridge.espThe above all edit world cells I think? Pretty sure, so place them above The Parthurnax Dilemma and amongst your other housing/world cell editing mods. Getting the order of all these right will be very tricky though. To be honest you have way too many mods that are editing world cells and conflicts are inevitable even with a perfect load order and that many of them. 4B PiratesofthePacific.esp This is an armor mod, I think....not entirely sure though as I've never heard of it, armor mods go above housing mods generally in a load order. Weapons as well depending on what they're altering and whether they are custom meshes or simply replacers. 4C SexLab Romance.esp4D SexLabMatchMaker.esp [Version 4] 4E SexLabWorkingGirl.esp Load these above LoversComfort in your load order.

I use a lot more mods and I run with almost complete stability using ENB and a ton of graphic enhancement mods that don't have plugins. I only run ugrids 5 in my config though, going up to 7 is a guaranteed random but predictable CTD at 3.1GB of memory. ratbag Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Check your Skyrim\Data\SEQ folder and see if you have any .seq files left over from mods you've deleted. Even if you start a new clean game or revert to a save before they were there, they can still screw up your loads.
