Bluegunk Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 I'm looking for a little help with skin tone in interiors, and in shaded exteriors. The picture below tells a thousand words (well, 6 or 7 maybe). Once away from any kind of direct lighting, the skins change into this kind of pink-red glow that has little shadow or detail. They look horrible and bland, and lose any 3D look. The picture shows some of what I mean but I have not captured the toneless glow I see away from lighting in interiors I have fiddled with ENB settings but can't find a way to improve the look. ENB authors have been helpful. The best skin results I found were with Ljoss ENB, but I find that too 'contrasty' overall for my tastes. I tried using Ljoss settings in other ENBs but failed. Miserably. I'm looking to tone the skin, to give more shade, contrast and effects of indirect lighting. Are there any lighting / ENB gurus out there who can suggest what I need to tweak to improve skins in these conditions? Thank you. Mods currently in use: Cathedral weathers & Seasons (clear weather 8:14am) Pi Cho ENB (I get the same with Silent Horizons and a few others) Ichirou skin (it's the same with other skins) No other external lighting mod
Mikufan39 Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 You may try Rudy ENB "Vivid Weathers" version. In fact it's the one I'm using right now, and I have been satisfied with the results of the detailed skin that this ENB gives me NOTE: If you don't like the black bars that appear above and below your screen, can be disabled in the ENB configuration The option is called "Letterbox" Sorry for my bad English.

Yes, Rudy is very good! But it slows my game to a crawl.

I see, I don't have a good PC too, but I managed to make a balanced configuration for use Rudy ENB maintaining a stable 60 FPS. if you want to give it another chance to the heavy ENBs like this, I will tell you the settings that can help: When you Install the Rudy ENB "Vivid Weathers" version, go to ENB Config and disable all effects except these: And SAVE CONFIGURATION. Also If you use a High or Ultra setting in your Skyrim SE, Download BethINI Standalone version to properly balance game settings. I recommend use the BethINI preset "High" or "Medium" and take a look on the Tab "Detail" and "View Distance" because it is the ones that contribute the most to performance. Some settings I can recommend in View Distance Tab is: Object Fade: 7.0, Actor Fade: 8.0 and Item Fade: 4.0 I think this is a pretty decent Setting. and if you use DynDOLOD (Low Preset) you will not notice the Objects fades lols I hope that with these recommendations you can enjoy of this good ENB.
Bluegunk Posted August 14, 2021 Author Posted August 14, 2021 Thank you for those details. I'll give them a try! ?

The Resolution Scale of SSAO Preset, "0.5" would be the minimum value that can be used if you want to keep a decent Ambient Occlusion (Rudy ENB default is 0.5). The Complex Particle Lights would be optional, but this function will help the interiors to be seen a little more illuminated where are the little candles Since with this option disabled you will see several candles that are bright but do not illuminate the things around it. About the FPS impact, varies between ENBs. In my experience, when I used the Re-Engaged ENB for Obsidian I got a significant FPS impact when I approached any candles, but with the Rudy ENB for Vivid Weathers I did not notice any change in my FPS when I was near the candles, and in magic battles I didn't notice any difference too. Sorry for my bad English.
