dukx Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 On nexus it seems to have a mountain of crash reports regarding countless serious conflicts and bugs. Considering how rigid Fallout 4 is regarding modding, is it better to skip this one ? any alternates ?
rjrc Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 I tried Sim Settlements, it is a great mod but ... when you have a lot of settlements you take a heavy hit on game performance. I had to remove it. You can use it, just keep a clean save before installation in case you want to rollback
razzor69 Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Im aware of this when first time seeing this mod in some youtuber review, as usual it will hit the game performance and of course the engine limit of Fallout4 itself
ralfetas Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 I use the 1 and indeed put a hit on the performance. After some years, now i am back to fo4 and i try the SS2, i think the settlements are more light to handle, i don´t see major performance hits with the SS2. But... in SS2 there is a lot of bugs, now there is a quest, that is pretty nice, don´t ask me why, but i got a lot of CTD´s because the quests, i think is their fault because when i end the chapter 1, the CTD´s stop. The quests itself has a lot of bugs too, is best to read the forums first to see what not to do.
NickosTyr Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 SS2 just posted a Beta update that fixes a lot of stuff people were talking about as far as the building/questing stuff. Also I wouldn't run more then one settlement with in an area as a Sim Settlement if you have a performance issues. I tend to do sanctuary as a sim settlement and make a minimal one at RR, Abernathy and Starlight. Ones further away i do a few more as sim settlements. That way i don't make my game have to load multiple locations with the SS scripts running in the background. With SS1 i used to have constant ctd's when i had RR, Abernaty and Sanctuary as SS rise of the comonwealth settlements. It may help your performance issues if you kinda space Sim settlements out.
