Help with a hybrid staff mod?

So what the staff is supposed to do is it electrocute, burn, and freeze the target all at the same time (apply "chaos damage") in the form of a lightning bolt attack, which I got working just fine. The problem I'm having is I also want the staff to summon a shade at the location of the freshly killed target (however I only want the shade to appear at the location of human NPCs) but I can't figure out how to make that happen, I don't know if that would be a scripted effect (which if it is I know nothing about scripting) or if I could pull that off just by adding the right options to a Magic Effect.

You could add a 'raise dead' effect to it, but that would be on-hit, so you'd have to cast that spell again on the corpse. If you want it without casting another time you'll need a script.

There's no way to do this without a script. The closest there is to it is the Soul Tear shout which reanimates whatever you kill with it. That you can achieve by adding the DLC01_SoulTearWaitForDeathFX magic effect to your spell.

About to try this now..

EDIT: I'm not seeing that script anywhere.

That's because it's the name of the magic effect. The attached script is called DLC1MagicSoulRendScript.

EDIT: Typo.

Found it!

Now to test things..

By the way you typed "sould" instead of "soul" by mistake so when I went to look for that (copy paste) it didn't work very well at first, lol.

So far that still does not seem to be working... I'm not sure if I need to reequip the staff on my character so things "update" (I had to do that with an amulet I made and modified) or if I'm just plugging things in incorrectly..

I decided to try adding a reanimate effect out of curiosity and for some reason I seem to be able to get that to work, only even if I use the soul rend shout script I still have to hit the corpse again with another bolt in either case to resurrect it, which defeats the purpose of even using the soul rend script.

I have a feeling though that in a game where I didn't have the mod FEC installed the spell might work as intended and I think this because I've noticed that upon resurrecting a freshly killed (and extra crispy) NPC it just stands there in a default idle animation, it won't say or do anything, and I can still look through its inventory and I think this is happening because FEC is replacing the NPC corpse with a different one depending on the visual option you have selected and the burned out husks don't have an AI package associated with them. I'm still not sure why the summon version of the mod does not work though.

EDIT: Nope, I was WAY off.. FEC has no affect on such things at all. I used the "Reanimate Thrall" spell as a base for that ability on the staff and apparently if you do not input a magnitude (in this case 40.0) and then a duration amount (in this case 999 days) on the "enchantment" or "spell" end weird stuff like I described happens.. I guess at this point I can try to move into the summoning effect I was originally going for... (On a side note, the charred corpses from FEC look extra creepy walking around by the way).
