Brirena Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 Has anyone else experienced this since last TS4 Update? First time I have ever seen this after an update and the resulting MOD conflicts. It appears to be a MOD issue (turn ALL off and it disappears), but have not been able to determine "which" MOD yet - lol - which is why I am asking if anyone else has seen this before, may help me narrow it down... [updated MODs so far: WW, MCCC, Jaybee, Anarcis]

Is UICheats updated if you have it? Only way to easily find the broken mod is removing mods using the 50/50 method until you find it. 1 hour ago, Brirena said: [updated MODs so far: WW, MCCC, Jaybee, Anarcis] You can leave these installed. And delete your localthumbcache.pkg in your TS4 folder when adding, removing, or updating Mods or game. Don't make any new saves with mods removed for testing, just exit game.

I usually remove MODs and add one by one. Not sure I know what 50/50 is - maybe faster method? anyways, my MOD folder has grown rather large, so it is going to take so time to sort this out. I have been lucky so far in the past - but this is first time I have seen this issue (in the screenshot included above). thanks again!

You remove half your mods to desktop in a temp folder and delete the localthumbcache and retest. Don't make any new saves just exit. If it fixes the problem you know which half of your mods contains the broken mod. If not it's in the half you didn't remove. Once you find the bad half then cut it half again and repeat. Saves time narrowing it down some if you have tons of mods.

I finally got a chance to work thru your 50/50 method, took a bit of time with the amount of MODs I have, but I was successful! When I discovered the MOD that was causing problems it dawned on me that it was an "UI" MOD - and made sense why it was causing issues with my game interface (live & learn) (it was a MOD that overrides the "wrench" in the CAS Tree) ~anyways, thanks again for your help

You can check here after game updates for broken mods and links to updates as Luthen always starts a new thread for every patch except minor bug fixes. They only cover non-adult mods BTW. https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/991971/broken-updated-mods-cc-july-21-cottage-living-patch/
