CTD or not getting past the loading screen Help

Hi

 

I am having a problem with a heavily modded Skyrim. The problem manifests in 2 basic problems. The game fails to load a save game and task manager states program not responding or it loads and crashes to desktop and no message.

 

I have done several clean installs of the game and I use STEP (Skyrim Total Enhancement Project) and then add in the various mods attached in the load order.

 

I have run BOSS and sorted the reproccer patches to the end. I have cleaned the dirty mods using TES5 edit and have let it run the sort order with no problems I have created a merged patch and in Wyre Smash a bashed patch.

 

I run papyrus but to be honest cant understand it and need help re the cause of my problems. I note I can creat a new game and it will work for a bit but it either CTD or fails to load when entering either an exterior or interior cell.

Its easier to read the logs if you copy+paste them into a word document.

 

As far i can see there a some script errors.. your savegames seems to be broken.

 

try SKSE script clean command.

please make a papyrus log of a new game.

 - "Roosters" and "Drop Lit Torches" have both had problematic relationships with Papyrus Logs and/or CTD's (browse their "Comments" threads) - I've tried them both in the past, & stopped using them for this reason.

 

 - "When Vampires Attack" has also been somewhat quirky in the past for some users (as above, I also tried this one & then stopped).

 

 - "Skyrim Coin Replacer" may have been abandoned some time ago, and is also apparently a source of trouble with scripts & current game updates.

 

 - Those 1.6 and 1.6b "Werewolf Perks Expanded" .esps are not supposed to both be active at the same time judging by the author's description. Choose one. Werewolf Perks Expanded has not been updated in some time - is it still compatible with current versions of Werewolf Mastery?

Try to load a save made in an interior cell (best if there's no npcs around, in qasmoke for instance)

Then load the real save.

Apparently "Birds and Flocks" doesn't go well with SkyRe. It's mentioned somewhere on the STEP forums.

Thanks for all the advice chaps. I finally ditched STEPs and only added the fixes and unofficial patches. Installed RND, Skyre, Reqiuem and Frostfall along with some mods from GEM. 

 

I had initial crashes but on using a lvlpredator script posted in the nexus site I was able to get to level 7 with very few crashes.

 

However, I am now plagued with failing to get past the loading screen. However, if I load and earlier save and immediately reload the problem save, it loads correctly.

 

I think I will remove the birds and flocks as it has featured in a couple of crash logs and see if that helps. 

 

I note in wrye bash that the problem saves show up in lilac and if I understand it that suggests their broken or corrupted. I added the ClearInvalidRegistrations 1 to the skse ini but it doesn't appear to do anything.
