How exactly do the Email Notifications work?

After enabling email notifications for everything, I was expecting to get some email notifications about some mod getting a new version or some replies/quotes to my comments. So far nothing for weeks. They're not in my email spam/junk folders, so I'm guessing that I'm just not getting any. Is anyone else having this? Has anybody solved this issue, and if so how? Due to this problem I'm having, it might take me a while to respond to any comments...

It does not work all the times.

I know it works for some type of notifications, but not for all of them.

I'm not sure how you did it but this is how I would have done it.

1. Go to your profile and click on "Account Settings"

2. On the right hand side of the screen click on "Notification Settings"

3. From the list of available types of notifications use the drop down list by hitting the arrow on the far right associated with the type (e.g., "Mentions and My Content"). There you will find choices about how you will be notified (including e-mail) FOR THAT SPECIFIC TYPE OF MATERIAL.

4. Choose which ones you want to change, Save and you're done.

Yeah, That's how I did it. Not getting any email notifications, though.
