KainsChylde Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 So I found a cool armor set that I really like, and I want to use it as a replacer for power armors. How exactly would I go about doing that?
formel Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 You need to rename the .nif files of your custom armor after the orignial file and put into the right directory for nv it is meshes\armor\powerarmor  the filenames are powerarmorcomplete.nif for the body and helmet.nif (also for nv)  Â
Ark of Truth Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Yeah, it's really that easy  Unless of course you need to convert it or something. Consering it is Fallout we are on about you should be ok to just rename it.
KainsChylde Posted May 14, 2013 Author Posted May 14, 2013 Ok, new question. I'm trying to make a static of the armor for display purposes. Basically show what it looks like equipped without having to put it on an NPC (Think the T-51b display from FO3). How would I do that?
formel Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 The simplest way for that I can think of is a mannequin mod (or are there even some in the vanila game? can't remeber)
Bashis Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 mannequins will do what you want, but i refuse to use them ever again ever since they raped me in my underwater house, turns out brutal rapers registers them as potential stalkers, went up to one and put armor on it, closed the menu and was assaulted by a goddamned mannequin.
KainsChylde Posted May 15, 2013 Author Posted May 15, 2013 Issues like that are why I don't want to use Mannequins. I've had mannequins follow me around and it was exceedingly creepy. Also, my load order is getting a little out of control so I don't want to add anything unnecessary. I know it's possible to make a static version of armors that can be used as a display, I just don't know how.
Bashis Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 try looking in fallout 3's anchorage plugin, they did it with the winterized t-51b, it was on racks inside the sim, and in the display case at the end, so the armor was made into an activator and just a static object both. you might find the clues you want by looking at the structures of those items in nvedit.
