Strip Club question

Do I HAVE to own a strip club in order to have one in the game world?  If I can get one going without having to manage it, how?

 

If I do need to have the strip club managed, can I take control of a townie family long enough to set one up, then remove control (remove them from the played / playable list) of that family while they're still managing the club?

I think you need to do some initial management (hire the dancers, assign spots for lap dance etc.), but after that, it should work like any business in the game. My managing households are in the list of played ones (green symbol in the world screen, but that should not make a difference, since you can freely move household between the "green" and "grey" categories) and I can visit the clubs with any Sim. Unlike with some retail stores and restaurants, the game doesn't even assign additional employees (these are usually not wearing the staff uniforms you selected) when I visit with Sims from a non-owner household.

You can play one sim, buy a strip club, hire the dancers, do the initial set up. Then you can play with any other sim and the club will be perfectly functional without you needing to manage it.
