It was going great with the test char, but I overdid it Btw here's the netscript log. I'm curious to understand what it was about, so I can maybe avoid that issue in the future. I did all the bad things, modding and updating and removing mods mid game, cleaning saves+scripts twice with fallrim, in short skyrim special djenga edition. Issue I ended with was consistent CTDs on hardsave, and player.kill didn't cut through. i'd like to make preparations. I want to avoid having save corruption/bloating mostly. So I got several questions for long runs and i'm not especially bright with modding 1. Physics : Should I ditch things like HDT SMP/CBPC ? 2. What are some known script bloating culprits ? Do you see one in my mod list ? 3. In engine fixes.toml , should I set SaveGameMaxSize to true? it says experimental so i'm not sure. How does it fare with save bloating ? 4. WryeBash: ESL capables : good or bad idea ? Knowing that I don't really know what i'm doing aside following tutorials blindly like a donkey 5. WryeBash: plugin checker reports Probable Injected collisions : It's mostly Complete alchemy and cooking overhaul+Hunterborn+Complete crafting overhaul. I got patches for them. They didn't cause any issues for 36 levels. Is there anything to fix there or should I just ignore that ? 6. Is the bashed patch needed/recommended if i'm done with adding mods ? 7. If you had epiphanies 200 hours in like "nooo I forgot this mod" "should have installed this" "never should've come here" "forgot these bug fixes" please share them 8. I'm probably forgetting stuffs 9. There isn't much about long run infos. It's the kind of things you figure out too late a hundred hours in a playthrough so any tips are welcome Hopefully this is relevant enough for technical support, and not too annoying to read/answer

After playing with it for a while i got regular CTD's when i entered a cave the moment i hit level 15. (But i wasn't exactly careful with the settings, so be sure you know how to set it up right.)

Ah yes the random cell respawn. If disabled it was alright on stability, had a few crash reporting issues with wolf pups but it was pretty rare. I'll consider ditching it but I really really like it

I don't risk it anymore but thousands of user who are better at modding then i am use it on a regular, so the right setting and everything works fine i guess.?

No i never got corruption with it, just crashes. I switched it for demonic creatures, more stable, never get an ctd in my setup with it so far. I don't know if it will work without the creature LL stuff, theoretically it should but i would ask the Author before adding it. The Monsters it adds are very neat. If not, maybe just go for the retexture rout and use the sound replacer mods for them? The new Bear mod in nexus looks amazing, Undead Sounds are really creepy and Mihail is a Master of Monster mods, his vampire monster look exactly like the real deal form Witcher 3 and they are fucking hard to beat.

More undeads tho i'm interested, does it have a mcm menu to adjust things ? I have yet to experience Inigo heard good things about it, aside the DPs I'll pass on the chimps lmao, chimps with schlongs assaulting a vampire wth daddy issues, sounds more like Crucible than Skyrim

I really don't know if it works without it,worst case you will have to waste more slots for it then intended. good part about creature stuff is as long as there are no animations registered and you disable all meshes in the mcm for the main one, you will never see anything of it. Damn modding addiction I didn't know that Inigo could say your name, that's really neat, though like Codsworth I doubt they have my name, or nickname. Heard about Lucien too, never tried him. Was going for Rumarin (Interesting Npc) & Inigo but I guess I got space in my team for a third one, even better if they interact. Though that'd be 3 males lol. Alright downloading Lucien Serana I don't like her too much so i'd rather keep space for something else

Interesting npc is still new for me, I only took Zora & Rumarin as companions at the moment and only met like 5 of them I think (Olivia & Carmella, not sure they're companions or from that mod though). Really liked Olivia as npc but only did her 1st quest. Oh and Fironet but she hit too close to the heart with her intro, anyway looking forward to meet them all

Currently on my third clean reinstall and I've found the most stable set up I've ever had. I get stable 60 fps with 349 mods and I've had minimal ctds (I CTD'd once and I managed to fix it by deleting a SOS mesh) at level 50. 250 of my 349 mods are graphical or bug fixes. Heres some stuff I decided to do differently. I only use mods which have been updated since 2018. And honestly, I mostly only download ones which have been updated since 2020. The only 2018 ones I downloaded were ones which were unique and must have for me. Outdated mods are a huge cause for ctds. I personally chose not to install physics. I read about frame drops in bug reports and that was my experience on a previous play-through with physics. I also check bug reports for every mod and if there are many I usually don't download. Depends though what the bugs are. If a bunch of people are getting CTD its an obvious pass. I tried using a bunch of idle animations but they caused frame drops to 45 fps consistently. I know for a fact they caused it because I tested them alone and when I removed a few of them the frame drops stopped. The ones which didnt cause frame drops were EVG conditional idles and Dynamic sitting idles. I highly suggest ENB. Makes the game gorgeous. I did a lot of dialogue overhaul mods. I suggest expansions for any factions you will be working with. If you're playing a spellcaster get That Spell Looks Fine unless you want to hear "That spell's dangerous! Keep your distance!" a million times any time you go into any city. I used CBBE, Bijinn skin, and Pandorable NPC overhual. Had no issues with face bug. I also suggest audio mods. Unofficial High Definition Audio Project. Audio Overhaul. The Northern Diaries. Also got mods for werewolf sounds and magic sounds. I personally love the Experience Multipliers mod with MCM but thats personal preference. Ive put thousands of hours into Skyrim and I like having my PC level up faster. I also suggest Odin - Magic Overhaul. The spell in this mod slowfall is the most fun spell in the game imo as you can skip dungeons by jumping to end, you can fly off mountains, its just a really fun spell imo.

I try to have the same policy regarding recent & updated mods but it's pretty hard to keep it consistent. Thinking of Moonpath for example 2. Hm, I did get performance issues with HDT SMP, seems pretty heavy to handle all npcs physics especially in towns. Ditched it for CBPC limited alone, was a bit better but yeah, I'll probably skip physics too this time 3. I tend to avoid idle animations as I had frequent issues with them too. I use posers instead mostly, but I don't do much screenarchery anymore so no big deal 4. Yep got Reshade & ENB. Using Nyclix atm, it's pretty. Though frame drops hard when enabled so I play without, just toggle it for rare screenshots. Rig's getting old, and summer temps are coming hard ? 5 & 6 : Dialogs I fear touching too much, unless it's just QoL tweaks. Faction expansions I haven't checked too much, which ones would you recommend the most ? I mostly gravitate around Thieves/Mage/Volkihar 7. I actually kinda like npcs spamming lines so i'm fine with these 8. I only use Bijin, so far i'm pretty satisfied with it but will see if Pandorable npcs catch my eyes, always in for eyecandy lol 9. Audio I never touched too much, if it fixes vanilla bugs i'm in (heard there were a lot but never had real issues). I don't want to stress the rig too much (with 400 plugin sure!) though so i'll probably just stick with fixes 10. I tend to decrease xp gains, I prefer slower paced leveling 11. This i'm definitely gonna check how compatible it would be with my list. If it reintroduces spells from old tes it's very welcome ! Anyway thanks for your input. I think i'll get the Dark brotherhood one, never tried it. For the mage college I usually just stick with Immersive college of winterhold, mostly for the added cells Follower collision was on my to do list too. I see I forgot dragonsreach balcony, this one really troubles me too lol Might try the guard dialogue overhaul, I do miss the Oblivion's style guards interaction. Alright gonna check the rest more in depth, thanks a lot
belegost Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 I scrolled quickly through the log, not that I understood anything about it, but I saw Achievements Ensbler in there. You don't need it if you're using SSE Engine Fixes (which you should, LOOT is very annoying about reminding you to install it when it detects some mods in your LO). It has a toggle for enabling achievements in its .ini file plus a lot of other useful functions, like replacing F5 quick save with actual hard save at a press of a button. Honestly I can't play now without it and it has saved many of my games when something went haywire and I had to roll back. For this alone I can't recommend it enough.

Thank you it's one of these things I lose track of. Will get rid of it and double check its activated in engine fixes. I never thought about changing the saves buttons that's a good idea, less menus is always a plus

Thread ? love it, have to make notes for myself now.. But when we are at it, may i suggest something i found really cool and can't live without anymore? I dumbed immersive armors for this one, https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/47184 I installed remoddeled armors after that and build the bodyslides to get all man wear the new armor meshes and all the females the skimp versions. Gave my game a lot more variety of armors and even if skimp armors don't make sense, theoretically speaking it should also work with none skimp replacers who only touch female variants.

Threads like these in my experience always end up being useful to someone Actually most of the time I found fixes to my modding problems on LL I mostly use cloth/robes rather than actual armor but will check it out, textures look really crispy on the screenshots. Issue is it seems like a replacer, and i'd like to keep shiva & opulent clothing replacers (mostly) intact

I'll probably skip this one or keep it for another playthrough. I used a skimpy replacer before which was supposed to touch only immersive armors, and it kind of messed with the opulent robes. Probably an issue on my end but still If several mods have a replacement for the same type of clothing and they have Bodyslide options, just build the ones you want to keep last. It will overwrite whatever was done before. Or just untick the ones you want different when batch building and only build them with the other mod.
