This made me want for an animation to sit with my dog, my faithful companion's head on my lap, stroking it behind it ear. Could some one help make this dream a reality? Even if you don't want to do it for me, can you tell me how I can do it myself?

Alternatively, you can read one of Corronera's tutorials. They are slightly longer, but have pictures. They also cover many things that you will probably not need for this particular concept. As for the scripts involved in getting it into the game, I can try to help you with that as soon as you have an animation you are satisfied with.
