CRASHING ON WAY TO RIVERWOOD

Recommended Posts

I need some help. I keep on crashing trying to get to Riverwood. It does not matter which direction I come from the game crashes as soon as i am in the area of Riverwood. This may be related to this problem, last night I was at the inn in Dawnstar and when I left my screen turned black and I had to restart my computer. I would greatly appreciate if someone could review my mod list to see if they could figure out what mod is causing me so much trouble. Thank You in advance.

Did this just start happening recently? If so, have you installed any new mods which could alter the area in question? When you left the Dawnstar Inn and the screen went black, are we talking a possible infinite loading screen? Or did you hear audio?

Apart from a particularly script heavy load order, the crashes near Riverwood might be due to Ladies_of_Riverwood.esp and / or RiverwoodHuntingCabinSE.esp

On another note, I see you have S_L_U_T_S.esp and SLUTS.esp. This might be causing a problem of another nature.

Finally, as I look at loadorder.txt, I get the impression that it was prepared by LOOT. LOOT doesn't always get things right. For years, I've been following the article below. It's never let me down.

A good but terse guide.

LOOT uses several techniques to adjust, one of which uses Bash Tags to sort priorities.

Most mods seem to be missing some tags.

This thread deals with a different issue, but also affects how LOOT runs.

The user Mertz who was offering the advice is one of the maintainers/Developers for Wrye Bash.

The script linked in the thread will suggest and/or apply the bash tags to the plugin(s) it runs on in SSEEdit, and allows the Bashed Patch to resolve more conflicts.

It also affects the load order LOOT applies.

This is true, yes. It still appealed to me because it forced me to understand the mods I use and how they do what they do.
