I tried my best to copy your pic's that you posted but I really don't know what I'm doing in outfit studio. Once you change the files and add the textures and nif reference how do you add it to be built? I know I'm asking for a lot of help here but this is the first time I've been into outfit studio.

so i take it you changed the files and saved it as the new red pony nif you're currently using, i made a guide for you~

so you have this as your final product, all you need to see is the mask

use this to make a body slide compatible project and name it something you can find like red horse

this is the fix to invisible restraints and your headless horse problems~

all you need to do is find the red horse project and press the build button

I have tried to follow your guide and I think I found the issue.

 

In this photo I have done my best to follow your steps.

 

I added the file and saved it so it could be found in BodySlide. But I think I'm missing a step as when I find it in BodySlide I am missing the info need to make the item.

 

So in my previous photo you can see all the info for the shibari listed along the sides in BodySlide.  

 

But when I Load the item to build it looks like this.

 

Some extra info that might help,

I have tried with both the red and pink horse mask and I get the same result of the item being named and addable into my characters inventory but there is no image in the item menu and once worn I become the headless prancing pony. so the items effects work fine it just stills seems to have no model added.  

 

Any info on what I'm doing wrong would be appreciated.

i'm  going to find out what's wrong with your horse mask

if i read this right, you did make it in outfit studio, make it so the head should appear and i assume you put the esp properly

Ok. so I have used the load reference to get the CBBD body into the outfit. This was that difference in the BodySlide I was talking about that I'm hoping I figured out. 

 

when I go new project I'm adding the mesh from file with the CBBE body, then hitting next and adding the mesh and texture from the mod.   

 

I then have it looking pretty much like your photos but when I change the path way for the textures to correct name, the mesh just loses all textures and has "no Image" instead of the textures.  So when I preview it in Bodyslide it's the same thing. This is the same for both the RED and ROSE masks. This has me confused as the rose pony shouldn't need to have its textures touched at all.

 

I then restarted the outfit from the start and tried just going into textures part of shape properties and not changing anything. just hit ok to exit that screen and the same thing of disappearing textures happened as well.

so I feel like the outfit is not able to load the textures at all for eithers masks. but the confusing thing for me that it all appears to be working fine with the correct colouring for both marks being there before i get into the textures screen.

it seems like you're the right thing, so i'll send you my meshes, it should fix your problem after you make the masks again doing what you did

the problem with the  current meshes is that the current red horse mask doesn't have it's textures, not sure what happened to your pink horse mask

all i did was make a new nif with the textures and use that for the mod

If it's invisible, there are either 2 problems: Missing meshes, or the item slots are incorrect on either the meshes themselves or the items in the creation kit/TES5Edit.

 

Rectifying this is pretty simple, but it does require nifskope and either TES5Edit or the Creation Kit.

 

I'll explain it later, since I gotta go for now.

Not gonna lie, I've put this mod off for a while given it's stage in development and prolonged lack of updates. And it shows, in that the textures only seem to load for the white one. That said, I'm glad I did. That one piece of equipment has become one of my new favorite pieces of DD gear. You have my thanks.

 

With that out of the way, I would like to make a suggestion. You see, the mesh you've used reminds me of a certain real world product, best exemplified in this video:

Frankly, the mesh all but textures itself. All that's really missing is the hair. Would definitely complement my kind of playstyle (equal parts kink and wanton stupidity).

Has anybody slapped together a functioning version of this?  It doesn't appear in bodyslide, and it's invisible heads in-game. 
I've TRIED figuring it out through the comments, but no luck.  Does it just not work for SE?
