Screenshot Usage

Hey everyone. I've always been an avid collector of Sims 4 screenshots for my personal use and I've been dabbling in Ren'Py for the last few years. I've seen some good adult Ren'Py games and I thought, why not make a visual novel with Sims screenshots? I've looked up licensing on this topic on various forums and the answers are grey at best. Furthermore, I had seen other users post screenshots in various manners, even videos on pornhub. The game I would make would be completely free, and to be honest I doubt more than a handful of people would ever play--though that being said I do plan on posting it on various places.

 

I was wondering if anyone could give me a more definitive answer on screenshot usage? Also, I would be using mods such as Wicked Whims, which I am sure changes things in some way. 

 

I just don't want to get started on what I want to be a lengthy project only for EA to shut it down. Thanks!

The more EA content you use the more likely EA may complain. Using custom skins, CAS, lots, households and build items it'll be no longer EA content (maybe the trees, streets).

As long as it could have been rendered in Blender/Maya/... there's no point for EA to disallow usage of such images unless you promote that the EA TS4 engine was used.

Exporting stuff to Blender and render it with more details / subdivision would be nice but for a simple story too much work.
