Zoarmhirr Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 Make this follower mod SOS compatible with no neck seams or anything like that please! Especially the blonde blue eyes one so I can play as him in my next playthrough! https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5632
RomeoZero Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 The author is probably using a mix of texture sets - male body + female head. This combo is recently popular to make non brutal males. For an SOS compatible no issues texture, you can also try out my texture mod for males here, it might suit your needs.

Alright sure I'll check it out!
Zoarmhirr Posted April 10, 2021 Author Posted April 10, 2021 This seems way too complicated goddamn. Can anyone please guide me through the steps so I can play as this follower in my own playthrough with sos and no neck seams or anything like that throughout my playthrough please?

What exactly is "too complicated" ? I can guide you with answers.

Instead of making me do something that I have no experience in can't you just explain how to make this sos compatible with no issues or do it for me please? Because I have no idea how to do this.

Because I have no idea how to do this. The process is not too complicated from its technical point. In your game path Skyrim Data\meshes (textures) actor\character\char assets (male) folders are placed game assets for male character, such as malebody.nif \malebody_1.dds files. Spoiler Nif files are containers for vanilla male body\hands\feet meshes. Schlongs of Skyrim mod comes with its own male body meshes (as other body mods), so you can replace vanilla assets from the mod archives for mod body compatibility. Nif files can be previewed with free Nifscope application. Its on Nexus and the internet. DDS files such as malebody_1\hands_1\feet_1\head.dds are main diffuse texture files for corresponding male body part meshes. Files with acronyms as "msn" are detail normal map textures (muscles) they can be used separately from diffuse main textures in some body variants. Files with _s.dds are specular\glossy texture maps. Files with _sk.dds are subsurface scattering texture maps. There is also a texture file blankdetailmap.dds in male texture folder, its used for matching color of the head shader with body shader in malehead.nif file. DDS files can be opened and preview with free app MyViewPad 1) If you dont use a custom race for your character. Overwrite game vanilla meshes (if its present in your data folder) with SOS mod meshes, if vanilla assets not present in your data folder just drop meshes folder from the mod. Overwrite your vanilla male textures from the mod. 2) if you are using custom races. Drop body files from the mod to a corresponding custom race folders. Some male texture mods can give you a neck seam, its mainly depends on painted details from the normal map textures - malebody_1_msn and malehead_msn. Many people forget that the game has multiple races and each race has its own texture folder with its own detail map "malehead_msn.dds".So choose body texture mods with support for male races (bretonmale \darkelfmale\imperialmale\etc). As mentioned, a file blankdetailmap.dds also preferable in the texture mod you are choosing, its making the head colormatch the body. This file should be with RGB8 uncompressed format. In some cases ENB FIX param (ENBLocal.txt) named "FixTintGamma=" can give a neck color mismatch.

I already tried that and had some neck seams and the sos body proportions were not identical to the original body which was more effiminate and smooth looking and the skin color doesn't match. Anyway to fix this?

Spoiler Or you can try body mod - SAM light version, some authors here make chars like in the link, but they use the same combo method. The problem with skyrim assets is that it was all made by noob hindus, on all models the UV coordinates are made without "relax" pelting method. So there will always be some seam problems.
