Guest Posted April 8, 2021 Posted April 8, 2021 I don't want to make excuses but I just started medication that is notorious for initially making brain not work so good. To compel you to read on, please imagine the following is being presented with this energy. In Bodyslide I made a custom preset for my PC, and I have a custom preset for the NPCs (of course using the "body amazing" bod). Using the racemenu morphs I've had no issue using the NPC Bodyslide preset but also achieving my PC's in game body look. Obviously in Bodyslide I was able to build morphs for my PC's clothes (including vanilla and DLC stuff) and this includes the 3BA physics and everything! I'm also able to do the same for the NPC preset of course. What my brain isn't wrapping around is the physics. When I did a test on the chef tunic, it morphed great on the NPC (who had the new body shape), and morphed great on my PC as well! However the physics vanished on the outfit, both for the NPC and PC. When I double checked with clothes I hadn't put the new preset on aka the clothes which I had batch built for the zeroed sliders, it fit my PC perfectly and had perfect physics, but NPCs- while preserving physics- did not fit the new shape. In other words, my situation: - originally had zero slider body preset, and had built morphs for unique PC preset. shaping and physics worked perfectly on all, morphing as needed. - built new body preset to affect NPCs. included variation between the two nifs. - NPC bodies worked perfectly, and PC did as well. - however, the clothes still built for the zero slider preset made NPC bodies appear as their original zero slider shape, as expected. physics did work still. PC still functioned correctly. - tested build on new preset (using chef's tunic) to see if I could get the clothes to match the NPC bodies as needed - the chef's outfit did fit the NPC perfectly, as well as my PC of course, but the physics died for both PC and NPC. - double checking the old preset built clothes confirmed nothing had broken, the new preset just didn't allow the physics. I can see that this is like... a puzzle. With probably what I assume is an obvious solution. But I'm not the one who can solve it. Did I just choose the worst outfit to test on? Is something weird about the chef's tunic? I recall it had physics the first batch build I did with it, because why wouldn't it. Is it not working properly because... ??? My ultimate question is: I can have this preset body type but also build to fit everyone with physics? Also am I dumb?
anjenthedog Posted April 8, 2021 Posted April 8, 2021 I'd ask these questions of yourself before proceeding with an evaluation What gender is your PC? What body model (specific) does your PC use? What body model is used for NPCs What reference body is the armor/clothing based on? for the first, while I suppose males can have wubba and stuff (see the HIMBO body for instance), I usually associate Bodyslide with work on females. For instance, I just use a stock male for my male vector, whereas my female PC is CBBE-3BBB (nd right now, some mash of CBBE-3BBBB and BHUNP, since I'm currently cloning onto a BHUNP follower using Copy Character). So... I'm presuming that you're working on a female, with which I have some familiarity, but for males, idk. I've adjusted his facial features using racemenu, but nothing in Bodyslide. He even wears stock armor. The other three are interrelated. If a reference body isn't the one you use, (for PC or NPC), it's likely you'll run into issues like bodies not having the same breasts, or hips, or thighs, or whatever while wearing the clothing/armor Bodyslide presets also must be based on the same source body chosen. Ie, if you want to use CBBE-3BBB body., then only use CBBE-3BBB presets, if BHUNP, only BHUNP presets, etc. You can end up saving a preset that isn't conformal to the body type you've chosen to use, which can also lead to unexpected results including fit issues or bodies not matching what you expect (or sliders just doing nothing at all if the preset doesn't support the necessary variables) Finally, the elephant in the room. Is the clothing armor physics enabled in the first place?
