My game always crashes when I attempt to enter IC market district. I have whole lot of mods, but I don't think this is mod related - at least, not the crash itself. Could that be that game master file got corrupted? If so, how should I fix it? Can I just copy some files from new clean installation? Reinstalling whole thing would be... Just - no, to much work, lol.

No, it is highly doubtful that anything is at all "corrupted". It is more likely that you have a bad load order and\or you have some mod conflicts. Until we see your load order we can't begin to help you as Ark pointed out.

I didn't think it is related to load order because the game is running fine otherwise. Last time when I had a problems like this I found out that reinstalling certain plugings helped (i.e just dragging and dropping .esp in data folder). I was usually able to pinpoint the one plug-in that was causing trouble, now I don't seem to be able to do it - the game either continues crashing when I try to enter market, or it crashes as the the savefile loads. I've been running this setup for a year or so the technical requirements for the mods must be ok. It just looks like something is broken now 0_0

I found out based ony my experience with the mods that the crash in a particular location was always related to the corrupted mod/savegame. Try loading old savegame and go to that location or try test the mods you are using by ticking the half off and see if you still get crash. If you do get crashes then tick off more esp and see.

This is a redundant plugin: LoversPayBanditForSlaver.esp

Dump it and use the latest version of Pay bandit as it combines the two.

I personally don't use the unofficial patches with my OOO install but I am not sure that is your issue. Try the above changes and see if that helps any. If it does not try starting a new game and see if that helps. If all of that fails then post your revised load order and we can try some other things.

The game still crashes in the market though, no change here. I tried starting new game - that worked fine, no crash in IC Market. So... I am dreading this - does it mean my save file is corrupted? This sucks big time because every availivable save game causes this crash (I lost most of my saves to HDD formating - I forgot on wich drive I had my saves and had to restore them using recovery software =-= The files I used were marked 100% intact. I have tried some earlier saves, but they cause the came to terminate with c++ exeption as I try to load them. I.e. newer saves work fine but crash in IC market, older files just won't work anymore for some reason.

The way to find out if it is a save game issue is to start a new game and go see if you crash in the IC.

The more changes you make to your load order and mods (adding\deleting) the greater the chance the save games won't work.

I tried starting new game with the load order posted just above this message and there is no crash in IC Market. Does that mean my save file is damaged? Oh well. maybe i should start playing skyrim after all

I will try re-installing every mod I have enabled... If that will not help... Then i just quit playing i guess ><

Reinstalling your mods is not going to fix your saved game. The only way to try to salvage it is to disable all mods except the Oblivion.esm and the Official DLC, start your game and load that saved game. Once it is loaded then hit the escape key and select "new save", then exit the game. This is what is known as a "clean save".

Now enable all you mods, start the game and load your newly made clean save and see if you work correctly.

NOTE: DO NOT try to use a quick save. Quick saves are partial saves and they quite often get corrupted.

That's not totally correct.

The MonsterGirl - DemonHive mod had a bug in it which about 50% of the time resulted in a crash in Anvil outside the church if you came into the city via the docks. You would be able to walk in front of the church does for about a second until it crashed. However if you came through the main city gate and walked passed the church to the docks the crash never happened.

Neither the save or mod were corrupt. It was actually due to the amount of triggers were set off by various mods when the player walked onto a certain section of tiles in the city, the ones in front the church doors.

Yep, as Ark stated crashes can come from a variety of means. Typically a crash at a specific location is due to a specific trigger. That trigger could be an NPC, and NPC's inventory, an item. Missing textures, nif files and other missing items can be a part of the problem.

Problem is, I can not do a clean save because game will crash with C++ error every time I try to load saved game with all mods disabled, or rather, it does not actually crash, instead it freezes, with sounds playing, and if I press alt+tab I can see error message on my desktop. When all mods are enabled, the savegame loads fine. But then the game crashes to desktop silently as I try to enter market district. These are two different kinds of crashes.

Should I turn off mods like Better cities, landscapes additional hairs, x117? What about .esm files? Streemline? Maybe I should try running this save from clean installation (I created separate installation with no mod and patches as of yet)? Would it even work without OBSE and pluggy?

I do not use quicksave with this game, I've heard it causes problems.

isn't it possible just nuke the entire district, lol? i have no quests there, it just aggravates me that i can't sell my loot there anymore. MAYBE there's something I sold to vendors there that causes trouble. An item from disabled mod? The only mods i stopped using recently were some add-ons to demonhive and Player slave encounter, I think.

You can try the separate instillation but you would need to install OBSE first. You don't need pluggy.

The fewer the mods the better when you are trying to clean a saved game.

Turned off all the mods but shivering isles DLC. Still crashes 8( I dug up some really old save file - I am pretty sure I visited IC Market after creating this save and it was running fine - it still crashes now. Tried clean save with the same file - still crashes in IC market. Tried to 'clean up' the save with Wrye - it removed some 800 missing links - but the game still crashes in IC MArket. Anything else I can try? i just don't get it.

There is one REALLY old save that seems to work when I attempt to load IC market. It is from lvl 18 and my current save is from lvl 23 The worst part is - I am sure I was visiting Market when I was lvl 20 or lvl 22 cause I bought some houses and for that I'd need to visit a bank and sell loot - I always do that in the market district. Why wouldn't it work now all of the sudden

I even found one save file that was made in IC market, so obviously it was working fine when it was created. Why can't I load it now in game with no mods? Maybe there's something wrong with game files after all? I couldn't test any of this on separate instalation I've created cause it would just crash when I try to launch it. Maybe oblivion doesn't like being installed on two separate folders on the same PC, lol

Maybe I should try total anihilation - er, reinstallation of the game, although I really dread this process and would rather try something else if there are any other options left.

i may be late on this and without a good suggestion

for me to make a clean save game you have to click off esp one by one and each time to make a save game

before doing anything you need to remember if you add a new esp or made any update, put a new file to your data (nif file or obse plugin).

another killing suggestion is to try to click off one esp (the one that seems scripting in the market) and try to go to the market.if alway crushing than clic it back on and go and try another esp.
