High probability of CTD on first load

This has been an ongoing issue for me since updating to 1.9. I don't seem to be alone as Dragonporn also has a post on this issue, which with my knowledge of Japanese I can barely understand. http://dragonporn.ldblog.jp/archives/7041988.html

 

With google translate, some key pointers seem to be:

 

- CTD has high chance of occuring, but is fine afterwards when in-game

- Occurs when being in the same cell as an NPC (dead as well)

- Can be solved by saving in a cell without any NPC, Havenbag mod suggested 

 

Just throwing this out here to see if anyone else has this issue, and if you're proficient in Japanese perhaps you could expand on the details and discussions on the page. Of course, it would also be great for those who have resolved this to shed light on what exactly the problem is.

You have mod conflict issues. It sounds like a mod which edits NPC is causing your game to crash out.

 

But considering you have no provided a load order then there is nothing we can do.

Re-downloading the DW series made me notice that only 610 files are added under meshes/actors/character/facegendata/facegeom/skyrim.esm whilst I have 626. So that might be it. To be honest though I cannot for the love of god remember where the other 16 files come from. 

Whelp. Forgot to count the 4th file.

Ether tried TES5Edit http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25859 ? This may detect where your problem lies

Thanks, I'm relatively unfamiliar with TES5Edit (have cleaned masters and mods though) so that taught me something new. The racecompatibility patches in between USKP and UDGP were managed by BOSS, so I don't think it's a problem. The detection procedure did help me realize that the kaw cat disguise set and valkyrie armor had problems, but as for what exactly I'm not too sure.

Yes, its annoying. Rebooting seems to help. Loading a save made in an interior cell, and then loading the real save, helps too.

Thanks to everyone's help, I've pretty much solved the loading issue. The culprit seemed to be Guard Dialogue Overhaul (SPIKE.esm and Guard Dialogue Overhaul.esp), even though I did uninstall (all?) other mods editing NPCs prior to the removing GDO. To test, I loaded a Helgen Keep save right after killing the first two Imperials ten times, with the result being an impressive 1 out of 10 load CTD failure rate. Below is the new plugin list for anyone who's interested in comparing.
