A Closet Bisexual?

So... just for starters, let me tell you that I use Wicked Whims... MCCC... Basemental... and Nisa K's mods along with a UI mod and a few of littlemssam's.

When I play a game, I seed the towns (worlds) with a large selection of Sims (up to 25) that I want to use as potential mates.  I then select one, take them to various places during the course of their life to meet these other sims.  I let them more or less choose which sim they find the most appealing as a future mate.  Some are straight, some are gay.

Raymond is registered as an Archaeologist (because the game doesn't have that as an occupation even though there is an aspiration for it).  Paxton is a businessman at the top of his field.  Raymond is gay.  Paxton is straight.
Paxton has had a romantic relationship with a pretty little gal but they just never seemed too interested in going farther than just having sex.  Neither one ever asked the other to hang out at their place nor did they show up on each other's doorstep after the initial romance and encounter.  It was as if they both found the other boring after having sex the one time even though the romance level was high.  Not only that but even after introducing him to other gals, he may chat with them but beyond that... absolutely no flirting.

Raymond is a more recent addition to the scene.  I have introduced him to every gay and trans in the game but for some odd reason... no flirting at all.  At least not on his part.

While at a nightclub, he introduced himself to Paxton.  And here's where it gets... complicated.

Paxton, it seems, is very keen on Raymond.  While he never comes to Raymond's house, he is constantly inviting him to his.  Raymond will accept and goes to visit his friend.  After the initial hug and "how was your day," Paxton will ask for sex.  Raymond never turns him down.  Afterward, they will chat and chat.  During one visit, they will have sex at least twice if not three times.  Paxton is always the one to initiate it.  They never got a romance bar even after a dozen encounters, and I figured that it had to have something to do with the "straight" trait.

So... I got thinking... maybe Paxton would rather not be straight, and the experimentation began.

I saved my place in the game (I didn't want to mess this "friendship" up).  Then when Raymond visited Paxton.  I removed Paxton's "straight" trait.  After the usual greeting, Paxton pretty much ignored Raymond.  Hmmm.

Then I did the same thing but added the "gay" trait.  They had the usual greeting, and would chat... but no offers for sex.

Okay... maybe Paxton preferred to be straight, but I felt that if he cared so much for Raymond (who he followed to Selvadorada when Raymond was digging up relics), maybe I should artificially add a romance bar.  Considering how many times they had sex and how Paxton was always inviting him over, I thought a full bar would be appropriate.

Raymond loved the idea and started flirting almost immediately (something he had yet to do to anyone else).  But Paxton, while he chatted and joked with Raymond, suddenly had no interest in asking Raymond for sex and didn't join in with the flirting.

So... now I have a straight man... who can't seem to keep his hands off of a gay man... and have no hope of finding a way of taking their relationship to any kind of a higher level.

The only variation I didn't try was altering the gender preference and making the preference 100 for both male and female.  Perhaps that should be the next experiment.

Has anyone else had this kind of thing happen in their game or is it just me?

Also... I have checked the box for sims to always check another's gender preference but that seems to be working as well as the box I also checked to be sure married sims don't have sex outside of their marriage.

I'm not even sure what this 'trait' is unless something new was added to WW I haven't seen yet.

If it's another mod then it might be messing with WW gender settings.

Or all it does is add moods and buffs.

This is the easiest fix but keep in mind he may have casual sex with other sims both gay/bi males and straight/bi females.

Many other WW settings can also change how things work.

If you want sims to follow WW gender rules.

WW Settings/Sex Settings/Cheats: Always Accept (1 bar), (2 bars usually will bypass gender rules to allow for group sex)

WW Settings/Relationship Settings: Open Relationships: OFF (ON=Cheating), Romance Age: ON

Autonomy Awareness: Player Sims: ON, Joining Sex: ON, Relationship Awareness: ON,(OFF=Cheating)
Pregnancy Awareness: OFF, Sex Location Memory: ON, Sex Animation Memory: ON
Joining Sex Gender Compliance: ON (OFF for group sex?)
Joining Sex Relationship Compliance: ON (OFF will cause more sims joining in sex)

WW Settings/Sex Settings/Sex Interaction Settings: Respect Gender Preference: ON (OFF will ignore gender preference)

Another trick is using sims relationship settings to allow sex or restrict it.

'Always Accept' (Both bars off)

WW Settings Sex Settings/Autonomy Settings/Autonomy Specifics:

NPC Sims Relationship Modifier: (set to -1.0 to -15.0 for stricter relationship requirements for NPC-NPC auto sex)
Player to NPC Sims Relationship Modifier: (same as above but for player to NPC or player to player auto sex)

(At -15.0 sims will need to be in a romantic relationship for auto sex to trigger, but you might have to experiment with these numbers as it seems to be different for some ppl)

Sims with the 'Alluring' trait gives them an 'edge' for less refusals.

Sims tend to be more talkative if/when they can't have sex with other 'not available' sims around.

(It's a bit like having WW sex autonomy disabled and sims just do the vanilla interactions)

My straight male sim gets more random female visitors that are 'friends' than those that are 'romantic' for some reason.

But they are visiting for sex mostly.

I don't think a straight sim can use romance interactions with a gay sim when it goes against the other WW gender rules mentioned in above post.

Yes you can cheat the romance bar but I don't think they will auto flirt/kiss each other.

If you control one sim you might not even see the romance menu available when talking with the other sim.

It should become available if you make the straight sim bi-sexual using MCCC.
