Memory issues

Hi everyone, so I'm not sure if I've made a mistake with my mods setup or simply bit off more then I can chew.

The game is currently trying to take up a huge amount of ram on my rig after I've downloaded some new graphical mods and the HD texture pack.

It's causing it to freeze on loading or after a few mins of playtime, crash-fixes gives me errors about it running out of memory, though it's not causing any real lag before getting to this point,

My PC Build is:

Spoiler

windows 10, Motherboard: Asrock B550M, Ram: 16gig ddr4, CPU: amd Ryzen5 3600, Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER

Load Order and modlist is here, I cleaned them up with tes-edit too where Boss has told me too.

Hi thanks for the response!, I downloaded all them, correctly I think, though I'm not sure about the directx9 runtime thing, didn't know where to place it nor if its needed on newer hardware.

I'm still getting some crashes though and a lot of ram usage, it's sometimes usable for a short while so maybe it's improved a bit?, but still not working.

For a mod-list like this, can anyone tell me how much ram it should generally be taking?.

DX9 is required for Skyrim. It has nothing to do with your hardware spec. Don't worry, different versions of DX can live on the same machine - programs just look for the version they need and grab that one.

You should have downloaded an executable which will install itself in the correct place.

What is telling you that you have a lot of RAM usage?

new graphical mods and the HD texture pack

These will hit your VRAM rather than your RAM. Make sure the graphical mods are the 2K textures version. Anything larger than that will hammer a poorly configured Skyrim.

Do you see any visual problems such as black or brown skin textures?

Just noticed this:

Boss has told me too

You should not be using BOSS - it has been obsolete for years. The tool you need is its successor, LOOT. If you are using Vortex then you don't really need LOOT as it comes with its own version.

Sorry, I meant to say LOOT, I'm using mod organizer.

Crash fixes is giving me an error on most of these crashes where it tells me my memory is running out, last two crashes I've had though have been sudden ones without a warning.

The graphical mods i'm using are Skyrim Flora Overhaul, Static mesh improvement and Climates of Tamriel I don't believe any of them would be considered over 2K textures.

I've heard the official HD texture pack can cause issues though so I might try replacing that with the 2K texture pack on Nexus mods.

Oh also no graphical issues aside from far away area's being a bit flickery sometimes. No incorrect skin textures or anything like that.

The thing with Direct X is it's asking me where to place the extracted files.

Double-check your settings in Crash Fixes and especially ENBoost.

SFO, SMIM and CoT should be fine. The Hi-Res packs aren't rated by most users. There are better and less resource hungry alternatives out there - e.g Noble Skyrim.

The DX9 you want is this one I think

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=34429

Yours seems to be the Software Developers Kit version (SDK).

Checked all the settings earlier and they seemed fine.

Ok so I changed to the 2K texture pack and barring it freezing on loading screens(albeit after the freeze it does continue the game so no issue there), the memory issues seems to be gone, it's not crashing due to it it seems anymore, checking it a few times while playing I still had a good 5 gigs left even in the outside area's.

I am however getting random sudden crashes now, had 2-3 so far which seem random, one while running around whiterun, another shortly after initiating combat and another while running around in said combat. Third crash gave me this message.

edit:nvm managed to get directx9 downloaded, creating a folder for the first link creates an exe in it to use, gonna test now to see if it works better.

Thanks again for all the help!.

Where are you getting this info from, it is irrelevant. Skyrim LE can't use more than 3.1gb of RAM due to the limitations of the 32-bit engine. The engine has a max of 4gb.

I was just checking the task manager, seems to be taking up less then before, I didn't know it had a limit on it so that's weird, maybe some other process was also using up a good amount of ram.

Either way I gave it a good run after downloading directx9, barring the loading screens freezing but working anyway so no big deal there, and saving being a bit slow it all seems to work fine now, no crashes so I think I can play now.

Thanks for all your help!.
