Hello,

This was not an issue before. Decided to reinstall all mods and clean up folders. Deleted old TES5Edit cache. On create merged patch it freezes and then crashes. How do I trouble shoot this?

Also, is there an alternative to the merge patch?

Thanks,

You could give this a try instead of the script version https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69905

I tends to give a bit more information about problems with potential merges including, esm/esp being in the wrong order or missing.

Though depending on what you are doing it might be worth giving this a try instead https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/90987

There is an unofficial update to it though which seems to be much better, found here https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/39378

Though it is on se nexus it will work with all the games the original will work with.

Also does creating a new merge patch simply lock the program up? If so try leaving it alone, xedit can sometimes get a bit, well a lot slow at times, and simply leaving it to plod through whatever is taking its attention can sort it out.

what are you merging together? merged mods can be tricky. the safest ones are armor and weapons. if you're merging other kinds of mods they need to be merged in the order that they are needed to be in. So, if you're merging a master with two mods that require it the master needs to be the first mod when merging. Also, if you have archives they need to be unpacked.
