Annoying bug (followers no longer talk)

Using a combo of mods that includes RDO, EFF, SexLab, Defeat, among others. I'm using a few follower mods, mostly Toccata, Harem girls, etc. They all use vanilla voices and don't have custom dialog.

Randomly, after SL scenes, sometimes one will lose her voice. I can still manipulate the EFF wheel UI, but invoking [Talk] always gets me just:

"..."

No audible voices at all. It happens randomly. Once it happens, its permanent. I can dismiss the follower, I can reset EFF, nothing works.

Can't think of what is causing this but it is driving me nuts.

THANKS

Sounds to me like a bug that can happen in Defeat when the Animation gets interupted or the Enemy got killed before he can reset to his normal behavior. To be sure safe your Defeat settings and hit Uninstall in the Mcm. If it is Defeat it should fix it for the time being it isn't activ. If not then you can exclude Defeat from that list. Only thing i know is reload since if you install defeat again the bug should also be back. Never got a fix that worked for me. Just writing that so you can be sure it is or isn't defeat

When this happens, you can:
Either disable the "Player as victim option" in SL Defeat, which will let you interact with the follower for as long as it's disabled.
OR reload a previous save.
OR do a full re-install of SL Defeat (Uninstall, save the game, clean it, then re-install).
It's never a good idea to uninstall a mod mid-playthrough but the last option never caused me any issues.
IDK if there's any better way to fix it but that's what "fixes" it for me... until it happens again, then I have to reinstall the mod again. I just disabled follower integration entirely so it never ever happened to me again.

Thanks. I did suspect Defeat. Out of curiosity, what have you for your settings here:

These had both ben disabled for me. I've turned them and see if that helps.
