Required / Recommended DLCs for Mod use?

Recommended Posts

Get To Work is kind of a must.  I haven't tried AEP or RedAppleNet, but I think those do need GTW.  Also Wicked Whims includes the ability to create a strip club, and that requires GTW too, because it introduced business ownership.

If you manage to find a place to get Devious Desires, yes you need Cats & Dogs for the pet play part of it.  The creator of that one got banned from this site for plagiarism.

Other mods may have their own requirements, they will say so if they do.  Also a lot of the bigger ones have certain features that require specific packs, but will work fine if you don't have them-- Wicked Whims requires GTW for strip clubs, and Get Together for social clubs that have sex as an activity.  If you don't have those, you just can't use those particular features, but the rest works fine.

And then as far as packs that give the best opportunities for sex situations:  Get To Work, the live careers have plenty of great settings for that, and of course it's needed if you want a strip club;  Get Together, for the social clubs that can have sex as an activity, night clubs, and one of the best looking towns in the game;  Island Living, beaches;  Discover University, because according to porn sex is the only thing college students do;  Vampires, because, well, vampires;  Strangerville, some modders have made some awesome tentacle animations that involve stuff from that;  Realm of Magic could lead to some great roleplay;  And finally, Cats & Dogs, if you're into that sort of thing.

Spa Day adds a new object, 'massage table', that has some animations made for it.

Get Together is probably my fav. just for content and the town alone but the Sex Club options make it even better IMO.

Got Cats and Dogs to try using Devious Desires but had to many problems with it ignoring sims gender settings.

Also requires using Sims 4 Community Library(S4CL) which also has it's own share of problems.

So unless you like having Pets in game I don't know it it's worth it.

Get to Work is good for careers and business mods but I don't use the WW strip clubs myself.

I didn't buy Seasons as I don't like the weather and prefer summertime year round.

You should also think about just the game play only to help decide what packs you might like.

LDR on youtube has many reviews on Sims 4 packs and is not considered a Sims 4 fanboy like so many others.

Most DLC's are only worth paying half price at best and only for the new Build Buy objects.

If you want to buy muliple packs from EA/Origin and not from ebay/key shops order and terminate EA Play for one month to get additional 10% off ($4,50 vs $5, $18 vs $20). Anyhow the current sale is not a good one as 'Game Packs' like Vampires are only 25% and not 50% off.

I also recommend 'Get Together' + MCCC to be able to create clubs with 10+ sims. Club gatherings are fun and lots/clubs/parks come to live (always with the same sims and only a few strangers, but who cares).

Cats & Dogs work also without DD, I like to have them around.
