Happysparkles Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 So I spend the most part of the day fighting a war with my Alpha Channel. I am still a bit troubled by it sadly . I DID manage to get the Nif to look GREAT though. With much help from Movomo and guides across the Web (And that TES link http://tesadventures.com/forum/index.php?topic=2893.0) Now here is the issue I figured it is best to show. I actually did 2 things but kind of am too tired to make the other video tonight but can do it tomorrow on request. Anyway here is what I have Looks GREAT and PERFECT in NifSkope But then when I play with my little outfit in game Maybe there is something I am forgetting? Maybe something I am missing in NifSkope? >< This is just not releasable at all. I am trying to avoid releasing too many glitchy mods. I am a noob still but you know. This is just TOO nooby to release for public distribution. Sorry for asking I tried everything I can think of. The two layers are Joined together and share the same texture (But different materials) In the other version that is not shown on video (but will make one tommorow if it helps) I combined the two parts and made them share one texture and one mat and it works PERFECT in the front but there no panty view at all from the back when I use that method ><. Anyhelp would make me so so happy. Thanks >< -Happysparkles . BTW this is for Oblivion of course .
gregathit Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Hey HappySparkles, I have had trouble with this in the past too and I was able to fix some of them and not fix others. However I can't talk you through it. If you can upload the meshes and textures, I will play around with them and see if I can fix them.
Happysparkles Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 Ok Ty Greg I will be dropping you an inbox now .
gregathit Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Ok, give this a quick try and see if it does any better: TestUpperLower6.7z
Happysparkles Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 Ok So it looks almost perfect. Thanks Greg, your awesome foo looking at it, Now sure what you did but it looks GREAT once I combine the two meshes and use them as one texture (like Movomo said) Now only thing I have here is this issue. Any advice? Sorry >< And this video Basically looks GREAT just I need to figure out why when I combine the textures some parts disappear. Keep in mind I have them as the same texture too. So should not be an issue, but then I am still lacking in some of the fundamentals of modding . Here is the most up to date file TestUpperlower6.zip Thanks -Happysparkles
gregathit Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Ok, try this one: TestUpperLower6.7z It appears that you tried to combine the panty and tights in the latest version, but I don't know why you did so. One thing I will explain is that when you change the properties of something it can have unintended side effects. This is especially true on things that are 'underneath' other things. Too many layers of transparent things can cause oblivion to freak out is what I have found. I am not sure if it is a hardwired bug or a video card rendering issue. Someone smarter than me will have to answer that. When you start changing properties of stuff that is underneath other stuff, then what I do is open two copies of that same file side by side. Then I delete all items over top of the item whose properties I am changing. In this case I deleted the hose. Then you would change the properties of the panties (or whatever you were wanting to change) and then copy branch the hose from the other nif file and paste branch it onto the scene root of the nif file you are modifying. Then do your normal nif cleanup procedure and save the changed nif.

It is now to the point where ONLY the left strap does not show, which is totally no biggy. I will try to work that one I do not want to harass xD. May I ask everything you did from first to end? I really want to come out with something learned, also it will help to educate others who've had this same issue I did. Greg I am very grateful you've just opened the door to many more possibilities for my mods. -Happysparkles
GSBmodders Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 i'm late in offering my advice but when layering transparency in armor, hair weapons ect you need to set the render priority, you can do this in blender in the uvmap by pressing L1 ect or maybe it was shift L1 i forget the exacts on how. there is a tutorial on tesadventures on how to do this
Poontank Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Unrelated to the alpha trouble, but: What's up with that 'Starfleet Notice'? Is it from an Oblivion mod? I remember there is a 'Star Trek'-like mod for Oblivion, do you have that one installed? I had downloaded it ages ago but never tried the mod. If you have it indeed installed - is it cool (it should be, otherwise you wouldn't use it I guess)?

If you have it indeed installed - is it cool (it should be, otherwise you wouldn't use it I guess)? Hey Poontank, It's OK I go off topic ALL the time. It is from a mod Starfleet , sadly I did not get to play the mod a whole lot because I've been going nuts about modding my newest mod. But when I make time I will play around with it a bit. Though I did take pics in there a few times :X It can be seen on my blog or the way off topic posting I made here in the Transsexual Babe Thread. But for the sake of providing and saving search time I will put some pics here. Here are some pictures. Reflective version 100% Natural version Rusted Metal (possible alternate version) 65% Damaged Version (probably not going to make it even to alpha 80% Damage (most likely will make it to the alpha as well) And some more Screens (Found on this posting on my blog)
Poontank Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Yay! That's exactly the one I had in mind! Downloaded it a long time ago and like so many other mods I hoard... Forgot about it. A kick to the groin of loremongers. A truly original concept to transcend the game this mod is using as a vehicle. This. Is. Modding. As it should be. Sometimes great new content like this is the outcome if people are willing to try something different than the average player home. Really need to install that ship and maybe whip up some nice 'greeble' textures for the outer hull.
