doubledip Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 I did not find any pertinent information by doing a search, and have no custom food content nor errors. Has anyone else had problems with their sims continually preparing food, and rarely eating it since the last big update? Note: I have not yet deactivated mods in my game yet. I'm afraid of the ensuing boredom that might cause....??

I'm afraid of the ensuing boredom that might cause....?? Roommates from University can get a hidden trait applied randomly and one of them does this I think. I use MCCC to check and remove 'quirks' and other unwanted hidden traits. You can also add traits/rewards to sims like a cheat mode. ECO Living EP, if you have it, also added NAP's that can push sims in a town to do strange things and had a bug that made sims bake white cakes all day. Was supposedly fixed with the last patch. I went into game settings and ECO and disabled NPC Voting. Then you can shift+click on your mailbox to disable, or enable, any NAP's that you want. Could also be a mod related to eating or cooking. LittleMsSam mods and a few others might cause it. Recently had almost the same thing going on but sims were eating every hour when not hungry, or they would cook several things and not eat anything. I had a pair of Live in Gardener NPC's that seemed to be when it started after the last game patch but worked fine before it. Had to get rid of them and remove LittleMsSam's Live in Services mod. Things went back to normal afterwards. You might have to start removing a few mods at a time and put them on your desktop in a folder named 'mods testing'. Then delete your localthumbcache.pkg in your TS4 folder whenever you add, remove, or update mods or game. Test in game with a few mods removed but don't make any new saves. You should be able to determine which mod is causing it by repeating the above procedure until the problem stops. Major mods like WW, MCCC, Basemental, Nisa's WP, are not the problem. CC like hairstyles, makeup, clothing, and skins and body parts are OK to leave installed. But since we don't know what other mods you have installed it's hard to guess but 9/10 times it's a mod causing the problem. And possibly just needs to be updated although outdated mods usually cause errors but not always. https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/983508/broken-updated-mods-cc-snowy-escape-nov-2020 (They don't allow discussion of any adult mods there). You can also try doing an Origin Repair in case it's corrupted game files.
doubledip Posted December 8, 2020 Author Posted December 8, 2020 @Scorpio, Thank you, for the insight. I've had both those issues, The white cakes, and the prepping food but not eating, and also eco sims visiting and constantly brewing home remedies. I'll look into those as soon as I can. I'm assuming now with changes in the menus, it may be a while before mods will be working again. For the meantime, I'll be hanging tight watching for updates.

Yes we got caught with another patch that broke a few more things but mostly skin tones and WW extra skin tones which I don't use anyway. UICheats Extensions and More Columns in CAS were broken but are updated now. And Kawaii Stacie's Slice of Life and another one is broken. Plus a couple of LittleMsSam's mods. Think some glasses were broken and maybe [Kijiko] Eyelashes causing blocky eyes but has something to do with sims also wearing rings. doubledip Posted December 9, 2020 Author Posted December 9, 2020 Probably a little late on this, but I found that the last update did not update my Sims 4 Version file. Very simple fix for those who still cannot activate mods. Simply note down the game version number from the bottom of the game splash screen, exit out, then go to the Sims 4 folder and open the game version file in notepad. if it's mismatched, edit in the new version number and save. Your Mods will now activate.
