Outdated UI-related mod (UI Cheats, MC Command Center), maybe.

Since the latest game patch changed quite a lot, I'd move all script mods that haven't been updated out of your Mods folder (remember to delete "localthumbcache.package", found in "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4"). Some mods also require additional steps following the latest update, e.g. Nisa's Wicked Pervs, so make sure to read those changelogs.

Once everything's up to date and there are no outdated mods lingering around anymore, everything should be fine again.

You can then of course try to add some of those older mods, as not all of them have been broken by the patch. If you see any odd behavior again, you'll know that one of them is causing it.
