xedit help needed to fix 3 peices of clothing/armolr

Okay from two different mods the problem seems to be the same

in game the pieces when equipped make the torso invisible. I managed to fix another peice of gear well fix it so that it shows in game HOWEVER I cant find the tutorial that showed how to do this and I have apparently forgotten how to do it right

 

I can find the 3 different peices of equipment in exedit no problem

in trying to get them to show up in game I inadvertantly enabled their previews by pointing Male world model MOD2 Model filename to the nif but apparently that just changed the preview but they still make the torso invisible.

I have verified that the NIFs exist and are in the right place but I think the mods are pointing to the wrong place to find the nifs

What were the outfit mods in question?

one was sunjeongs loverslab collection

the other is the ZAP mod (in it there is a doggiebelt that gets used a lot by other mods that unfortunatley turns torsos invisible)

 

in both cases the NIFs are there, I can pull them up in Outfit studio, I got them to show their "preview" in game but be damned if I can figure out what I have to do to get the actual outfits to show in game (the rest of the mod and mods outfits work perfectly it is just three specific outfits causing trouble)

I can think of a few places to check. Make sure the armor and armor addon records both list the correct body slots.  They might indicate the body slot is used but the NIF might not have any actual body slot mesh or texture or whatever.   NIFscope can open the nif and display what slot it should use, but I forget what that entry is named.

 

There are separate entries for the ground model for male and female and the worn model for both.  I think you only need a ground model for one but that is different from what is displayed on the character. Since it sounds like you might know that, you may want to compare the item record that does not work with another couple records and see if you're missing an entry that should be filled in.

I appreciate the advice I will go grab nifscope and double check the three NIFs in question

hmm I didnt think the peices would be listed in both places I will go check on that. I am very very new to fixes of this sort lol I am learning as I go

Had you messed around with the esp's or meshes for these outfits before this happened?

 

And these are definitively SE mods?

nope I had recently had to reinstall my entire mod list and Skyrim due to an OS reinstall. and I have been fighting to get everything working again ever since. and they are definately SE mods. that is something I made certain of when I had to redownload everything. the only one I alreadyu had downloaded was sunjeongs lovers lab collection. which I am happy survived the OS reinstall because apparently it cant be gotten anymore

 

I only started using xedit out of frustration when nothing else worked. I managed to get one outfit working again but the other 3 items still araent working and I have no Idea why
