honnorboss Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 I dont know what is causing this issue. My game keeps randomly crashing, i have the requirements to run this game and have run bigger games before, so my system isn't the problem. The only way i can think to fix this would be to disable my mods one by one, but the crashes happen from 20 to 50 minutes of playing. My crash logs are also impossible to read because they are only symbols.

Well the first thing is...If you have pirated codex version of the sims many mods won't work at all. But if you've just recently purchased the game through Origin or Steam and have the game version updated to 1.68 from Nov.10 patch then many mods were broken with these major game patches. So you have to remove all mods and test the game without any mods first to make sure it's not a game bug. Next you can try doing an Origin/Steam Repair game in case something got corrupted during the install or the update. Make sure you have updated versions of any script mods you use and add them back into game one at a time and retest in game. Either start a new game or use the old save but don't make any new saves after testing, just exit and install the next mod for testing. CC hairs, makeup, clothing, nails, etc. are usually OK to leave installed. CC furniture and other build buy items, or custom traits can be problematic so leave them out till last. Don't forget to delete your localthumbcache.package in your TS4 folder whenever you add, remove, or update mods or game. Other Non Adult broken mods lists are here so you can at least compare what you have installed to see if they are broken/fixed. (This is assuming you have the Snowy Escape patch v1.68) https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/983508/broken-updated-mods-cc-snowy-escape-nov-2020 Adult mods can be found here at LL of course, so keep an eye out for updated versions. If you don't update your game then don't update any mods. But if you update the game then you will likely need to update script mods too, but usually not for small game bugfix updates. (In the future it's best to turn off Origin/Steam automatic game updates and play offline until modders have time to update their mods).
Scorpio Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 If your game still crashes without any mods after some time then it has to be related to game settings, memory, or graphics settings. There are a few game tweaks for .ini settings and others found by searching the net. Random game crashing could be the game itself as many others are also having that problem. EA/Maxis is investigating. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/CURRENT-ISSUE-Game-Crashes-after-November-2020-Patch/m-p/9716510
