ChancellorKremlin Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Apologies if anyone else has already posted this - let me know and I'll delete this thread. What follows is a neat little summary detailing a list of rhetorical and/or logical fallacies. It is quite helpful as a general "best practice" guide for debating, and avoiding common and not so common pitfalls in the art of debate, rhetoric, persuasion, etc. Courtesy of: http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/ ******
Vashtriguner Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Wow, fantastic list. This will indeed help out anyone wishing to have a meaningful debate rather than it turn into an argument.
Strelky Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 This is my bible, by the way, all shoemakers are evil child-slavers!
FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Useful resource - ta! Also - yer mum's a rhetorical fallacy. ... sorry, I just had to say it...
Something Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I'm waiting for the rebuttal LMAO ... >_> Okay, fine I don't like this poster because of reasons!
Astaroth-Lite Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I don't like this poster because of reasons! Oh, the color scheme it uses is just awful.
Nonsense667 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Huh, interesting. I recently found and like this particular site. https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/ Heh, and it does look a little nicer. In my opinion. It may not have as many, but I feel it's kind of "cleaner" and more concise. I think they also tried quite hard to make sure they weren't shoving any actual arguments in the examples.
