Azratr Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Basically the title. All new saves from that one certain get corrupted for an unknown reason. At least I think they get. The game loads absolutely fine, no crash, nothing, but when I load one of those saves the game crashes to desktop. Located the save that is still fine, I suspect it cannot be mod conflict in this case. Probably MCM config files get corrupted or something? That's what comes to my mind that can modify the save. I had this issue before but when I reinstalled mods that had their own menus in MCM and configured them once again it worked just fine. Any ideas on what to do?

anjenthedog Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 fwiw, I've found that once that situation occurs, the best option is to bite the bullet and backpeddle to a save that works, much as it might be frustrating. I even have saves that wil load but no longer allow future saves. I can play all I want, but once I try to save (either manually via the MCM or even by console save, the game terminates immediately. Nothing *seems wrong with the save file (via fallrim), nothng funny happens while playing, but I can't save. I have other saves where I can't fast travel or change cells. Again, fallrim reports no issues. I have chased them, trying every which way to recover the saves, with no positive effect. It's obviously up to you how long and deep you want to go to try to recover them, but I found that it's better to accept the loss and move on.
